“Not as Bad as other reviews”
I checked in worried about all the negative reviews. Room was tired and old as renovation starting June 1 (so they say). Mold and cracked pain in shower was main issue with the room. The free internet was nice and the tv, although small, had many cable channels. Hotel located in great part of Central near Lan Kwai Fong and all shopping so that is a plus. Overall room cleaned every day and was safe place to stay. However I would pass on this place as about to be renovated. Cost per night far too much money for the place. Can stay in Kowloon or Causeway Bay/Wanchai with this money.
“Good Value, not the greatest”
Rooms shown online are doctored to look more up to date and cleaner than actuality. Carpets are dirty, rooms smell musty, shower was plugged. BUT, beds were clean, comfortable. Location (1 block from Lan Kwai Fong) is great for night life. A few blocks from MTR, star ferry, and trolleys. I would stay here again, but my expectations would be much lower that they were coming here the first time.
“Cheap hotel excellent location”
heading says it all. Location is excellent, staff very friendly, hotel seen better days
“Disappointed”
Obviously they don't maintain the shower. It is old and rusty. Wall is so thin. You can hear the TV loud and clear from your next door neighbor. Internet connection flaky. No storage/dresser in the room. On last day, we noticed there were drawers under the bed, but who would have looked for them? Toilet seat wasn't cleaned when we checked in. Looks like we need to find somewhere else to stay next time.
“Good Hotel”
Big room, clean, good location
“Can't wait to get up in the morning and check out.”
Basically to stay in Icehouse because I have a very short stay in Hong Kong, I am looking for somewhere cheap. The condition in the room need to be re-decorate, the paint are cracking, carpets are dirty. The upside is the location, especially I stayed on saturday, next to lan kwan fong, the party place, it wasn't noisey at all. But for people who want to see Hong Kong, it makes a bad impression. I do not recommend the hotel.
“DC Traveler”
The room I stayed in was very "efficient" by US standard but provides all the convenience necessary for a quick stay. Don't expect a 5-star hotel and those type of convenience. Location is key to this place. It's just a hop-skip & jump from the hot spots if you like clubbing. I'd definitely stay here again.
“Awesome local if you don't mind mold and tight rooms”
Awesome local if you don't mind mold and tight rooms
“Location, location, locaction”
The location is unbeatable and although it is around the corner from the hip places, it is really quiet (unless you are on the 13th floor with the air condition units right above you, but the staff was very helpful in moving us to a different floor). So if you are looking for a low price and and a good location and you are otherwise pretty tough skinned this will work for you.
“My worst hotel stay”
It was the worst hotel stay I have ever experience although the location was good. It looked like a service apartment. It should not be advertised as a hotel. This however, does not matter. The room was smelly, the ceciling was moldy. There was no one to answer the phone at the reception area after 6:00 pm. I had to cancel the rest of the reservation. I would not recommend to anyone at all. I deserve a refund.
