“Convenient”
Staff were as helpful as they could be. Meal deals in the hotel cafe were excellent value. No problems. Even though in a very busy area, the room was nice and quiet.
“extremely impressed, would go back to this hotel!”
the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful and made me feel very welcome. the location of the hotel was ideal for travelling to local tourist attractions by foot as well as on the mtr (underground system of hong kong)- the local mtr is literally round the corner of the front of the hotel! the hotel is also located near facilities for food with macdonald's up the road and supermarkets in close vicinty as well.
“Mongkok stopover”
I stayed in Metropark Mongkok for a 3 night stopover. Found all staff helpful and friendly, I used hotel's cafe for breakfast and dinner [buffet] with a good selection, the breakfast was very good value.Mass transit railway just across the road made it so easy to get around.
“Was 'ok' not GREAT!”
Overall the hotel was 'ok'. The bed was hard like others said but it isn't really a big deal. Quite comfy if you asked me. If I went back, i'd go for a diffrent hotel because want to experience the diffrences in the enviroment.
“Great Location!”
The Metropark Hotel in Mongkok is perfectly located, very close to the metro, and the local shops, restaurants and markets are amongst the best in Hong Kong. I cant honestly say it's the best hotel I've ever stayed in, as far as room comfort. The room we stayed in was clean but small and dark, and with only one electrical wall socket was a pain. When booking, we were told that there was a charge for Internet connection, but in fact it was free, which was great as we had taken a laptop with us. Don't use the hotel laundry service, it's very expensive, it cost us over $600 for a few items. There's a laundry next door, which cost us only $26 just 2 pounds! The hotel staff were all very friendly, and we were made most welcome. All in all, and for the price we paid, it was a great place to stay.
“Hard Beds”
The hotel has a brilliant location for the night markets though a bit far from the waterfront. Food is good but not ver varied. The only down side is that the beds are normal double size instead of the usual super-kings which is the norm in Asia & were INCREDIBLY HARD !!!!
“Only one drawback....”
Great hotel, convenient location (round the corner from the underground, walking distance to some of the various popular markets), reasonable price and clean and modern rooms. The only complaint I have is that the beds were very very hard. It might not seem like a big thing, but it certainly led to two very uncomfortable nights for me and the gf. I'm no softie either, but I've slept on floors with softer carpets than the bed I was provided! Would certainly reconsider if I had to spend more than a couple of nights there
“Not too impressed”
The service from the porters were good, but most of the staff couldn't understand simple English. The reception staff were not exactley the most polite either. The only good thing were that there is a 24hr restaurant a few doors away, and that Prince Edward station was really convenient to access as it is literally less than a minute away from the hotel. I'd recommend this hotel for people who want to travel around a lot while they're in Hong Kong, spending more time outside of the hotel than inside. But not for those who want to relax, no.
