“Honest Review”

The shower head is broken. The tv is broken. You have to call in to set your alarm clock. There's no digital thermostat so you have no idea what's the temperature. The door isn't sound proof so you can hear the staff yelling in the morning. The controls are installed weird where the lamp blocks it. In the end it just feels bad because I can't get a decent pressurized shower head.

“Not bad - but not great”

The best thing about the Panorama is the view. From the 20th floor on up it is pretty spectacular. The location is a little inconvenient. On a tangled one way street with little taxi service. Typically small HK rooms. I think I'll try elsewhere next time.

“Great Hotel for Exploring Hong Kong”

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Panorama. It was our first trip to Hong Kong and it was a great location for exploring, as it is really close to the Metro station and the harbour. The room was very nice (we were in one of the Gold rooms) - it was a good size, the bed was huge and really comfy, the shower was powerful and the room was very clean and had a good view. The only possible negative was that the room had an adjoining door to the next room, so you could hear the people next door sometimes, although luckily our neighbours were not too noisy. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hong Kong - being on the Kowloon side puts you in the middle of everything and it is more affordable than staying on the Hong Kong Island side, but it is still very easy to get to Hong Kong Island. The staff were also very friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

“Den & Kay's Hong Kong visit 2011”

We stayed in one of the Club Harbourview rooms, what a bathroom. I have never laid in a bath before with views over a harbour. Staff really helpful. Situated just a few minutes walk from the water front. Would definetly book this hotel again.

“Loved it”

Had a wonderful stay. Excellent location, spacious room with beautiful harbour views. Very fast , easy check-in. Very comfortable bed which was much appreciated after 2wks of sleeping on hard beds in China. Would stay there again.

“Totally unexpected - recommend”

A lovely friendly Hotel staff paying particular attention to detail. Level of English was good and Conciege and door staff were friendly knowledgable and attentive. A Hotel positioned close to the ferry terminal for a quick trip to Hong Kong Island for a trip over to Stanley Markets whilst also providing easy access to local shops, restaurants and the infamous Nathan Street. Room nice size, bathroom immaculate. Free Wi-Fi, Internet business centre for the concerning business person or just to drop in to stay in touch with family.

Area recommendations

Stay on Kowloon Island, st this Hotel accessable to Macau by Ferry, into China on subway and MTR for a 40 mnute trip to Schezan. Plenty of Restaurants, Bars, choices of differenct cruisine, close to Nathan Street, plenty of shopping malls 5 minutes away to cater for both up market and normal shoppers.

When to go

Macau, especially the Sands Casino and catch the free shuttle bus from the Sands to their sister Casino on the the other Island to the Venentian. The Venentian will blow you away if money is not a problem book 1 to 2 night at the Venetian. The inside shopping area is set out like Venice with Canal, Condala rides and streets that look like out of a fairy story. The covering of blue and clouds are just that a covering over the shopping and entertainment area. You must go to see.

“Would use again”

Good hotel, Has a roof garden with great views of Hong Kong. We where on the 27th floor. From the airport by taxi $300 including toll, back around $200. Some good eating places in the area and very close to the MRT and some good bars for those who like a drop, happy hours make the prices good. To get around use the MRT it's the only way to go........

Area recommendations

Have a good walk round has plenty to offer, it's not always cheap.

The Peak tram is well worth a visit on HK.

good hotel, clean, friendly, reliable, safe, secure. great level 40 rooftop viewing area of the harbour, good to take a beer up there and watch the night light show. location is good, for 2-3 days, first time stayers to HK, but you will get sick of Kowloon quickly and its tourist nature.

Area recommendations

stay on hong kong island if you can, near causeway bay or central, its just a more relaxed natural environment than kowloon, which is touristy.

Getting around

the MTR subway is awesome, better than London, air-conditioned, safe and reliable. make sure you get an octopus card (similar to london Oyster), as its much cheaper, and you can use it to buy things from shops if you have left over credit. they dont expire either, ive used the same card for 3-4 years, and the credit remains even with 6 month gaps.

Family-friendly activities

go to the hong kong park on hong kong island, its a great urban park, with massive goldfish, plants and waterways.

“Amazing Service and a Great Location”

We stayed for 2 nights at Hotel Rhombus in mid June 2011 and had a great stay. We booked a Club Harbourview room and weren't disappointed - awesome view. The personal concierge service was top notch and our 1 year old daughter was no problem for them - they even entertained her while we got some internet time in. The breakfast was pretty good, location was very convenient to the subway and we saw a lot of the city in two days.
