“Very happy with our stay”

Although a little out of town the metro station is right at the hotel and from there you can go anywhere. Plenty of breakfast eateries nearby and a supermarket across the road. Highly recommend getting an Octopus card for use on the public transport. Purchase on day 1 from the metro station and you can refund the balance before you leave, very convenient. This hotel was very comfortable and I would recommend for a short stay.

“Relaxing Hotel”

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel! It was clean and the workers were nice and helpful. The MTR was very close to the hotel. I enjoyed using the pool and exercise room and also the nearby park. The MTR was very close. I would recommend this hotel to other people traveling to Hong Kong. Thank you.

“Great hotel for the price”

I've been to this hotel twice now and I've been quite impressed by it. It's clean and modern, and the amenities were fine. The location is a little far from Central or TST, but fairly close to Causeway Bay. It is steps from the Quarry Bay MTR station. If you enjoy hiking it is walking distance from the Wilson trail, which connects to countless other local trails. Also within walking distance is a really nice and upscale dining area with East End Brewery and Grappa's Millenio. I've had two quite enjoyable stays here and the price was right both times.

Area recommendations
Most tourists flock to the endless consumer paradise of Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok in Kowloon, but my favorite spot in all of Hong Kong is Soho in Central District. It is on the Central-Mid-Levels Escalator (longest outdoor escalator system in the world) and is full of upscale dining and drinking and plenty of quirky shops.

“great swimming pool for families”

We stayed at this hotel in late August 2011 and found it to be a good-value family hotel for a trip to Hong Kong. The highlight for our kids (aged 4 and 7) was the great family pool which was open until 9 at night and provided welcome relief in the heat. We had a one bed suite with a sofa bed for the kids, which worked for us as we bought in breakfast from the store opposite and ate in the room (much better value with small kids who can be fussy). There was a small kitchen but it had no crockery or cutlery so was a bit useless really, and the sofa bed was creaky and needed replacing, so this isn't a luxury hotel by any means. Similarly we found the restaurant service in the evening to be quite sloppy, although the food (and cocktails) was excellent. Don't bother with any of the "spa" services either (not like this is why anyone comes to Hong Kong) as these were over-priced and also sloppy service. The location is a bit out of the way but very easy to get into Central on the MTR, or an old-fashioned tram maybe for part of the way (these get very stuffy and crowded and take a long time but very atmospheric and worth a trip on). There are lots of little noodle bars or slightly posher restaurants around the area to eat at nighttime - most people seemed to have some English or could cope with my Mandarin rather than Cantonese. The Wellcome store is well-stocked for basics and there are little bakeries for breakfast etc.

Area recommendations
HK highlights for us: taking the cable car at Lantau Island one-way to see the giant Buddha and visit the monastery. The kids absolutely loved the cable car ride, although I was a little scared - the height and views are amazing but not for the faint-hearted! Then a boat trip back to Central. The funicular railway up to the Peak is not to be missed as another great trip(although may be easier to get the no 15 bus from Central/Admiralty to the Peak and then the train back down as we had to queue for over an hour to go up, and there were no queues at the top). We had a lovely romantic (yes even with kids) meal at the Peak Lookout restaurant - mainly seemed to be foreigners or businesspeople there but good food and nice sitting outside with candles in the warm evening. Star Ferry trip across to Kowloon, just magical as always and the best way to see Hong Kong!

“Great place to stay”

The hotel is located midway between Quarry Bay and North Point. Although the Quarry Bay MTR exit is close by, you need to walk a bit from the station exit to the train. There is no place to do shopping for tourists around the hotel. However, proximity to the Quarry Bay station makes this hotel a great location as you can hop onto the train and travel on the Island Line as well as to the Kowloon side directly from Quarry Bay. I have stayed here many years ago when it opened. At that time, there were no places to eat in the hotel. Now, there is a Chinese restaurant on the 3rd floor to have great dim sums. The buffet on the 2nd floor is fine. The service is excellent. If you do not mind a "quiet neighbourhood" around the hotel, this is a great place to stay in HK.
