“Would stay again.”
Vien Dong Hotel was not to bad for the price. One problem l had was the aircon leak. When l rang reception for someone to fix, the person was at my door a minute or so later. Other than that the hotel is in a good area and the hotel is kept clean.
“Will stay in this hotel again.”
Vien Dong Saigon though in District 1 is a bit far from the Saigon River and the nearby areas. It is close to the New World Hotel. I had the room with a balcony looking over the garden. Vien Dong (it is also called Far East Hotel) is not a big hotel but service is good. Rooms are clean. And, they have a computer room with 5 computers and a printer for guests to use the internet surely free of charge. The complementary buffet is fairly good and I believe that you can have enough not only for breakfast but also for a lunch meal. Along the street, Pham Chu Lao Street, where Vien Dong is, there are quite a lot of shops, say restaurants and bars. Not only the main street in front of the hotel is busy but also the side streets like the alleys quite busy. It really is worthwhile to pay within my budget for a double room with two beds facing the garden.
“Excellent mid range hotel choice right in the thick of the action.”
I've stayed at the Vien Dong Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam twice now and it's been fantastic both times. Many of the cheaper budget hotels in HCM City are quite basic but the Vien Dong is on par with most 3-4 star Western style hotels and offers plenty of ammenity and comfort. The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel itself provides a welcome retreat from the sensory overload that HCM City can present. It's in a great location for sight seeing around the city and heading out for the great food and nightlife on offer. I will definitely be back.
“Very happy customer”
I stayed at the Vien Dong for 3 nights during a big trip around Vietnam. It's location is very central Ho Chi Minh, easy walk to the markets, many restaurants and the park right across the street is a great place to hang out with the locals playing hackysack and doing early morning tai chi. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The porters always made an effort to chat with me whenever I was coming and going and even offered to help me cross the street - which is an adrenaline inducing sport in Ho Chi Minh! The receptionists spoke very good English and were very efficient. The restaurant is superb! I had the best meal that I had throughout my entire trip. The wait staff are very sweet and efficient and the food is first class. Buffet breakfast was also included in my accommodation package and it was very satisfying - hot dishes, pastries, plenty of fresh fruit and omelettes made on request. The hotel helped arrange my transfers to and from the airport and my room was cleaned daily with complimentary bottled water left in the room. An excellent experience overall and one I would definitely love to have again.
“not for the money.”
The bed is moving around. Too much noise. Pay little more you can get better hotel,
“Central Hotel!”
We were thrilled with the location of this hotel. We walked to several attractions nearby. It was easy to find somewhere to eat or shop too. We requested a room on a higher floor to be above the traffic noise, and this was succesful. Now used to Asian style breakfasts, we found it satisfactory. The staff were always friendly and helpful. We felt safe.
“Very comfortable”
This hotel had everything up to standard and made our stay in Saigon very comfortable. Big buffet breakfast every morning and the rooms cleaned and replenished with amenities everyday. Very nice staying there.
“5 Star Service with a 3 star price”
We arrived around 1 in the morning and check in was fast. Very efficient service. Requested extra beddings and pillows, arrived with in 5 minutes of request. Near everything worth seeing in HCMC. Guards assisted with crossing the street. Excellent hotel.
“Good hotel in good location”
Hotel was clean and breakfast was above average. The foot massage there was very good. Location was also good, but a bit far from the swankier hotels/bars. Plenty of stores and restaurants in the area.
“Perfect location, but the room had no window”
A perfect location. But the room was quite small and a window to the atrium. The breakfastbugffet was OK. There is a sauna-massage facility in conjunction with the hotel.
