Best place to stay in Highlands, NC
Our stay at half mile farm was an excellent one. It is located in a beautiful and peaceful area; really close to Highlands downtown. We will definitely be back. It is a perfect getaway if you are looking to relax and be in nature.

Great resort!!
It was amazing. The resort is beautiful and the staff is so friendly, we had a great time eve though we were snowed in for most of the day. The Elizabeth cabin was romantic and cozy.

Beautiful property, with wonderful service. Stay included complimentary happy hour, and full breakfast. This was a birthday and we came back from dinner and found champagne and rose petals in room. Lovely stay!!

We really enjoyed this quiet property. The perfect spot to unwind away from the busy city with friendly staff and perfectly appointed spaces. The shared spaces were homey and lovely. Check out the "quiet room" which is so much more and the live music by the fire was so nice. Don't discount the amazing breakfast provided. What a pleasant surprise!

quiet wonderful getaway
What a beautiful spot! The accommodations were fabulous including one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. The breakfast the next morning was delicious and so filling. Love this place and love that’s it’s not right in the middle of the town!

Excellent stay in Highlands!
Terrific hotel and experience. We loved being in the peace and quiet outside of town while only 5 minutes from downtown Highlands. The breakfast was superb...the tavern was exceptional...and the people (service) will keep us coming back. The complimentary shuttle to town was a bonus. Worth the extra few dollars!!

Absolutely wonderful facility. We just loved it. Staff are amazing. Only negative would be our water froze our last night and we had to shower in a different room/building. I would have expected the hotel to "make it right" with some kind of adjusted rating. They did not.

This quaint property in the Carolina mountains is the perfect get away. It is close enough to town, yet set back away from the hustle and bustle. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

The main downside was the stealth Christian recruiting. Christian music on the PA, motto on the wall of our room. If you are not Christian, this is insulting.

Love it, beautiful grounds and friendly, helpful staff. I would stay in the main lodge next time and not the cottage. Was a little too rustic for me and I killed a spider before bed right by my head and kept thinking that there was something crawling on me after that and didn't sleep well. The breakfast was pretty good and I cannot say enough about how wonderful and accommodating the staff is and how beautiful this place is.

The setting was beautiful. The staff on hand was excellent... I think they were short on help at our check in, so we were a bit slow in getting to our room. The accommodations were lovely, exceeding my expectation, and the food was great!! Breakfast was a gourmet delight, the wine selection for social hour was very good, and and unexpected delight was the availability of snacks and bottled water, perfect to carry on hikes.

We had a wonderful time at Half Mile Farm and will definitely be back. It's a beautiful place, very comfortable and inviting and the staff are all wonderful! Each morning we had a delicious breakfast prepared by the chef, and we enjoyed the late afternoon get together with wine and appetizers.

Idyllic Setting
Just a short drive from the center of beautiful Highlands, we turn off of a country road onto the Property. Rustic, antiquated, cabins in perfect living condition line the drive off to our left. To our right, and across a vast landscaped pasture, sits the Inn. It's large, white, and beautifully set atop a hill, overlooking a lake and pond, with views of those rustic cabins (also available as part of the Inn). Reception, friendly greetings, wine, hors'deorvres are waiting in the great room by the fire. No Bellman to tip (thankfully) and a perfectly appointed guest room upstairs provides a relaxing welcome. Our Reception was handled by Vivian, from greetings to concierge services. Breakfast the next morning was delicious and ample. We will return.

Although it rained our weekend when we came for a wedding at Cashiers we still had a wonderful time and can't wait to return . Superb place to stay- excellent breakfast- many rooms to explore and beautiful gardens and lake . Felt like coming to a place that you return to for many years

Best Romantic getaway in Highlands
This was our second visit to the Inn, and our second visit was even better than the first. The staff is genuinely warm and makes everyone feel like family. We plan to continue to visit at least once a year.
