Lovely staff. Room was clean and tidy. Nice food

Posted 26-Dec-2014
We came to stay on a bust December day. The staff welcomed us warmly and we had a lovely clean and tidy room on the top floor. Only problem was hearing the constant trains. Stayed with our daughter who had a lovely comfortable bed as was ours. Only other thing to moan about was only 4 pillows and only a few TV channels. A lovely hotel and a nice breakfast in like some hotels. Che k out is 11 too so had a lay in. Would happily recommend

Great customer service

Stayed here for 2 nights over the weekend and found the staff were very friendly and completely accommodating for all our needs. The manager wenter out of his way to ensure we were comfortable and had enough food at breakfast. Would recommend if you want somewhere clean, relatively modern, well situated next to the station for easy travel to London and very reasonably priced when booked in advance.

It's ok

Posted 05-Nov-2014
Pros: The hotel is close to lots of amenities
Cons: Parking a warning about extra charge for parking would be nice and also its very limited on space.
Location: Great for Warner Bros Studios and trains into London.
We stayed in a family room the sofa bed was lumpy and made the room cramped. The main problem was the train noise which is quite frequent during the day time but increases with rush hour so be prepared for an early start after a disturbed nights sleep as the trains do run through out the night. Hotel room was tired looking.

We arrived here on a very cold day and received a lovely warm welcome from the receptionist. The hotel is lovely and modern and all the staff are very pleasant, loved this hotel location as it's so close to the station, so ideal. Would highly recommend this to everyone who wants to visit Harry Potter studio's as its so close.

Just the Ticket

Posted 13-Oct-2014
Great hotel for what we wanted. Rooms very clean and comfortable. The bathroom is a marvel of how much you can get into a small space. The hotel overlooks the railway station but there is very little noise from the trains and after an hour or so you do not even notice them. The staff are all very pleasant, knowledgeable and above all else friendly. The hotel has a limited menu for evening meals but what there is well cooked and tasty. Breakfast is well laid out with plenty of choice for those who want a continental breakfast. Cooked choices are limited but it is the same at all HI express hotels so this was not a problem. We stayed for two nights so that we could visit London and see a show. The train service from Watford is fast and regular. Also not too expensive. The hotel seems popular with families visiting the Harry Potter Theme Park and children seem well catered for at the hotel.

Holiday inn express

Stayed one night with my young family. Disappointed that there were no facilities to heat my baby's food. Simply told "we can't do that". We feel that the real risk of food poisoning from inadequately reheated food is far more likely and more dangerous than over heating...I know of no parent who doesn't check the temperature before giving food to their baby. The room was also overbearingly hot ad although an air conditioning fan was there the temperature never dropped. On checking out a business man was asked "how was your stay?" We were left with "there's nothing to pay" and a turned shoulder.
