Really convenient for annual Janmastami festival

Posted 19-Aug-2014
Pros: Also has some very reasonable leisure facilities - an extra bonus for most.
A stone's throw away from Hare Krishna temple in Watford - a thriving spiritual haven. So perfect to attend the massive 2-day festival, Krishna Janmastami, there. Close to the M25 and M1, as well A41. Staff were very helpful and provided excellent service throughout - rooms were generous in size and clean.

Lovely hotel with good access to London & legoland

Posted 18-Aug-2014
Pros: Very welcoming and clean
Cons: Free Wifi in bedrooms would have been nice as it was expensive but you could use it for free in the lounges
Location: Very close to m1. Cheap all day parking in watford from where you could buy an all day ticket for travel into and round London. Also good for legoland
Had a very pleasant stay. Good links to London and very close to m1. Hotel very clean with good facilities. All staff were very pleasant. Lovely breakfast. Enjoyed using the gym and pool. Free parking. Very quiet rooms with nice shower and plenty of hot water. Got good rates for midweek stay. Would highly recommend.

Hilton hotel Watford

Posted 15-Aug-2014
Room was small for a king deluxe, there was lime scale on taps and the milk for the tea in the room had gone off. There was a ramp outside our window where the porters left the lien bins it was not the view we wished for. We had heard about the breakfast from a friend it did live upto expectations, it was wonderful.

lovely hotel close to Harry Potter Studios

Posted 15-Aug-2014
Pros: Everything, the atmosphere was lovely
Cons: More sugar in the room and some bubble bath
Location: Loads of things to do near by, central watford is a 5 to 10 minute drive away, which has lovely restaurants. Harry Potter studios 15 min drive away
Check in was at 2, got there at 12 and our room was ready so the lovely lady at reception said we could have the keys. She also told us about restaurants in town and said she would order us a taxi if one was needed, which is a service we used and everything was perfect. Staff all said hello to you as they passed you (very welcoming and always looked happy). When we got into our room it was absolutely perfect, bed was comfortable, everything worked, kettle in room was clean and the bath was perfect after a long day of driving and enjoying ourselves. I could not fault this hotel, if I was being picky I would say I was upset as there was no bubble bath in the bathroom.

A pretty good hotel

Posted 12-Aug-2014
Pros: Parking - plenty of space despite functions going on at the same time. Staff - Very friendly and couldn't do enough for us.
Cons: The catering at breakfast could be improved. Surely it doesn't take 15 minutes to make scrambled eggs.
Location: Location was excellent for our purposes. Very close by to our 2 events.
I haven't stayed here for some time and thought to stay here for a couple of days in Mid-August. Nothing really to fault it. If I was picking holes, I would mention that at breakfast several people were left waiting for 15 minutes for scrambled egg that we were assured would be out 'in a moment'. Overall, very pleasant stay and I would stay again next time

Close to motorway Hilton Hotel

Posted 11-Aug-2014
Pros: I liked this hotel because it was near to the motorway, had plenty of parking including disabled parking, had easy disabled access into hotel.
Cons: There is nothing to improve, The hotel has everything, Light , clean, spacious, helpful staff, good food, easy access.
A good stop off the motorway. Excellent disabled access, with good late night access, room excellent, well ventilated and quiet, provided with a well stocked tea and coffee tray, Bathroom ideal, considering that I am disabled and didnt book a disabled room this was an ideal room for me. The staff in the breakfast room were helpful and the food well cooked and delicious.

Nice hotel if you want a quick stop over

Posted 11-Aug-2014
myself and my husband stayed here for one night for a friends wedding but have been here before and were happy with this hotel. Attractive front, welcoming staff (although night staff were a little abrupt) and lounge and bar were more than adequate for comfort. Hotel room was basic, bed, bath, tv, sofa and table but had exposed extension leads, leaking bath when showering (in room 230) and a broken lamp. Not what you would expect from a 4 star rated hotel. And the view overlooked the carpark of a harvester or something which was noisy in the morning. But saying that the room was pretty, bed was comfy and we paid £59 which i think is worth it. The hotel gym and pool was poor though. Dont even bother visiting it or if you are staying at another hotel and want to use the pool, i definately would say its not worth £10. The area is tiny, the pool was small, shallow and you cant even swim lengths. The over all decoration is old and shabby and to get to it you have to walk about 5 mins through all the corridors to get to it. We picked this hotel as it was the cheapest option around watford/st albans as the wedding was in a mannor house about ten minutes away. But with taxi's (£20 each way, taxis are really expensive around watford) it actually would of been better for us to stay closer and pay a little bit more for a hotel. But that was personal choice! Just a heads up, this hotel is on a busy A road and has no local shops or restaurants within walking distance.
