This hotel is very nice. The front part is Historical and is beautiful. The rooms are newly remodeled and very clean. It is within walking distance to many this and food establishments. This is such a cute little town, with a lot of History. It is a bit hilly, so your legs get a little workout. The staff was very accommodating and friendly.

A good central hotel, walkable to loads of shops and restaurants. Good breakfast and nice bar area. We had a std. room which was quite small and had a view of a brick wall but fine for 1 night.

My only comment is, that as they are still under a little bit of renovation, they have a few little details to iron out. ie; my room's landline was not working, so I have no way to contact front desk , aside from going person. The safe in my room was not working and needed to be replaced. Overall, they just have few details to iron out, so as to be considered a higher end boutique hotel.

Nice staff, cosy bar, very comfortable wide single beds in twin room. Aircon is very noisy and clicky and the shower did not work properly, as a button was missing. Could be very noisy from the parking lot too, but it was quiet season. For the price it is OK for one night.

Lovely small hotel, clearly recently refurbished, in an excellent location for the centre of St Albans, parking on site or a short walk away. Great rooms and an excellent breakfast.

Not soundproof at all, hotel not interested.
Rooms not soundproofed as we noticed at 2am in the morning when the inconsiderate idiot next door decided to play music at top volume. No one was around to answer the phone call to reception and when eventually someone came he wasn’t firm at all and it took a full blown row from me before the clown turned the music down.

A great hotel convenient for the centre of St Albans. All staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was lovely and comfortable, not quite as clean as we’d have expected.

Stay was good, room very nice apart from some of the fixtures and fittings falling off walls. Toilet Roll Holder and bed side light fitting almost loose. Looks like either insufficient length screws/pooe rawplugs used or no plywood patresses in walls behind plasterboard.

Booked this for my gran who is in her late 70s and she had a great experience. Very accessible room, friendly staff, good breakfast (she raved about this every morning), great location too. We had a great stay, the only negative points were that the room safe didn’t work and the toilet flush continued to flow after the cistern was full.

We liked the position (near the cathedral) and the availability of a disabled parking space. Not impressed by the choice of food available, apart from breakfast. Definitely did not like the noise from people walking around in the room above - presumably this noisiness is partly due to the fact that the rooms are not fully carpeted. As we are old and go to bed early, we would prefer somewhere quieter.

Not good value. It is the same accommodation as big chain budget hotes, but more expensive. It only does B&B and breakfast is very expensive. They take £50 deposit on arrival, but take a week to return it to you.
