“No Better Place to Stay”

The Pullman Antigone was a pleasant surprise. Judging by the map, we thought we would be pretty much out of the city center, when in fact the hotel is part of a modern mall and new development right on the edge of the old town. Parking was not a problem and, moreover, it was included in the price, i.e. free, which was another nice surprise. The hotel and staff were welcoming and ready to help. The hotel had an out-of-this-world breakfast and we definitely looked forward to starting the days on the rooftop terasse with quality croissants, pastries, LeNotre preserves, coffee and wonderful service. The only minus was that the rooftop swimming pool was too small and only fitted six long chairs, which were taken at all times.

“Perfect Pullman”

We stayed at The Pullman Montpellier last week and had an absolutely fantastic time. The hotel had just had a make over and looked really contemporary and chic. The rooms were really comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff were very friendly, helpful and made a real effort for us non-French speaking Brits! Breakfast was great both in terms of the quantity and quality on offer and having it on the rooftop terrace next to the immaculately kept pool was a real treat. This is a business class hotel with a real friendly feel. Montpellier is a brilliant place and The Pullman made our stay here extra special. Will definitely be returning.

Area recommendations

Montpellier has a compact city centre with many small lanes and squares to explore. A trip to the beach (6 miles) is also well worth it and easily accessible by public transport.

“Do not stay here”

We booked to stay here for one night in May 2011. The hotel was being substantially refurbished, and should be closed. It wasn't signed, making it impossible to find if you arrive on foot. A nearby hotel told us the only access was through an underground carpark. There was no pedestrian access to the carpark, and we had to enter it alongside cars. Once in the hotel, we walked by builders, who were (very noisily) renovating what seemed to be the lobby and eating area. Dustsheets were down, men in hard hats etc were clearly at work. The manager booked us into a nearby hotel and apologised, but I wouldn't recommend staying away from this place highly enough!

The Mercure Montpellier is nearby - and is fully furnished! And cheaper.

“Faded quality”

This is a lovely hotel in a very convenient location. But on the downside we found a few issues - firstly that finding the hotel by car is not straight forward as it's tucked away in a corner. Then breakfast: get there early if you want hot food like bacon as it disappears and is not replenished. And the room itself had a large stain on the wall and dirty carpets - not obvious to start, but you see the faults with time. Would I stay there again? Yes because of its convenience and maybe for the rooftop pool.

“Location is everything”

Situated directly between the old and the new you simply walk in either one direction or the other. There are lots of quaint little street in the old section definately woth exploring. One down side though i did not use the pool on the room I was led to beleive that it would have cost extra for the pleasure other than that i can definately recommend this hotel.

“Fantastic weekend”

Hotel was lovely. Let us check in at 10.30am! Pool was ice cold though (September). Beds and pillows were meltingly soft I slept so well!

“Très bon hotel”

A distance correcte de la gare (à pied) et du centre ville. Très grand confort. Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de jacuzzi chauffé sur la terrasse.
