“Great place to stay”
5 min from railway stn, central location ,very clean room a good size for the price If. I return to Montpellier I will stay again. Friendly and helpful staff
“Great Location, Below Average Hotel”
I have 3 to 4 annual trips to Montpellier and stay there for 2-3 weeks every time. This was my first time (and probably last) at Hotel Royal. Pluses: - Location is great. You're just in the heart of the city. - Staff is very helpful and friendly. Minuses: - Hotel really needs some serious works. Everything in the room is "used to the bone". Shower, hairdryer, WC, etc. - Cleanliness is below average. I found hair on the WC floor. In the bed (at least two people slept in the bed before me based on the hair length).
“A good choice”
Great location, great breakfast (reasonable charge), and excellent service.
“Nice Hotel in Great Location”
Very happy with this hotel. Location very convenient to TGV station and short walk to best parts of the city. Service was good and room was nicely presented. Would definitely stay here again.
“Simple, adequate hotel”
Nothing special about this hotel, but nothing bad, either...it's a simple hotel in a very convenient location to the main town square and to the train station...room was adequate, bathroom was small...staff was very friendly and helpful We got exactly what we expected and were satisfied with this hotel...it's not the Ritz, but it served our needs
“Excellent location, friendly staff.”
Very well situated between the Comedie and the station. Very friendly and helpful staff on reception.
“good budget hotel”
the hotel was in a good central location. 1 min walk from comedie. 1 mins walk to the train station. though central, it was quiet at night with double glazed windows. the room was a good size and clean. flat screen tv. only downsize was there was no kettle to make coffee or tea in the room and no fridge.
“Royal Location, Location, Location!”
The Royal was perfect for us. It was located in a position where we had easy access to the trains. A tramline also passes right bye the front door. Furthermore, there were plenty of restaurants of all price categories within easy walking distance. The hotel rooms were clean and spacious. This is not a luxury hotel, but it was a real bargain for our family. The staff were friendly and helpful. Each morning we would get a pastry and coffee and catch a train to another French city for a tour. The hotel was a five minute walk from the station and the trains were a nice suprise of speed and comfort.
“Never again”
The hotel is in the wonderul old town of Cadiz. The rooms are small and very noisy. I could barely sleep. The bath room was tiny; you could barely take a shower (and I'm a slim guy). The hotel has a limited amount of parking lots; if they are full (like in my case), don't expect any great help from the hotel concierge - it's your problem, if you arrive by car, after all. You have to park in a public parking area with a parking meter (to be refilled regularly)... Personally, I cannot recommend the hotel, and I would never stay there again. Cadiz however is sure worth a visit!
“Perfect Location, Felt very comfortable here”
I had a two day conference to attend in Montpellier and used Expedia to find a hotel for a three night stay. Reading the views and noting the location near the train station where I would be arriving and departing Montpellier I selected the Hotel Royal (note that the sign outside the hotel reads "Royal Hotel", not the other way around). Check-in/out was very easy and the desk staff was very friendly and helpful during my entire stay. The location was perfect for my needs. It was a very short walk from the train station and to the bustling Le Komedie square. Even though it was close to the train station, where in many European cities can attract beggars and pickpockets I never felt uncomfortable in the area. It was seemed to be located at the edge of the old city part of new and the new, more modern part of the town to the south. The only issue that I had was that around 1:00AM there was a heated argument between a group of kids just outside my room in the narrow street below. My guess that it was a World of Warcraft dispute that started in the Internet Cafe that shares the same building on the first floor that was "taken outside". I never did need to use the Internet Cafe myself because the hotels wireless connection was free and quite fast. I would definitely stay here again.
