“Avoid at all costs!!”

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights May 2010, at the end of a tour of the South West. We had requested a non-smoking, double room. We got a smoking room with 2 twin beds pushed together. The room melt terribly of stale smoke and when I asked in (admittedly faltering) schoolgirl French if we could change to a non-smoking, I had a spray air freshener nonchalantly placed in my hands, with a perfunctory 'desolee' from the manager. Additionally, the carpet was filthy - I trod on the toenail clippings of a previous guest nestling in it! Ew!! OK - it's cheap and we didn't expect The Ritz, but you couldn't hoover the carpet?? Finally, the breakfast was very expensive - 9 euros (£9 give or take at current exchange rate) each for a mini croissant, mini pain au chocolat and some cereal and coffee. DO NOT STAY THERE!!

Area recommendations
Sete has a charming old fishing village quarter, with bars and restaurants lining the the 2 main canals - stay there. The Hotel Imperial is near the beaches, but in the very grotty, 1970's complex and down market casino end of the town. AVOID!!

“hôtel impérial à Sète”

ravie de mon séjour dans cet hôtel. discrétion du personnel. plage et bus à proximité ce qui est très bien lorsqu'on voyage en train.

“Hôtel Impérial Sète - près des plages et du Casino”

hôtel impérial Sète - proche de la plage et de restaurants corrects. bien desservi par transports en commun - calme - une remarque : petits déjeuners beaucoup trop chers : obligés de les prendre à l'extérieur.

le musée Paul Valéry près du cimetière marin - et une vue panoramique magnifique depuis le mont Ste Claire

en arrière saison - ou fin août ou peut être au printemps - je ne peux parler que de mon expérience personnelle

par train en ce qui nous concerne - dommage qu'il faille changer à Montpellier

louer une voiture ou emprunter les transports en commun

son maillot de bain, un chapeau pour le soleil et des lunettes de soleil et bien sûr un appareil photo

“hotel impérial à SETE”

chambre un peu vétuste mais parfaitement insonorisée - literie bonne (un grand lit) - accueil bon, personnel à l'écoute hotel un peu éloigné du centre (15 mn à pied) mais bus qui passe devant- par contre à coté du Casino de Séte

“hotel impérial sète à côté du Casino”

Prévoir location en dehors des mois de congés (juillet et Août), car les chambres sont reléguées sur le parking , 1er étage sans luminosité. Hôtel très ancien , mériterai un coup de peinture !!

“hotel impérial à sète”

hotel très bien situé par rapport aux restaurants et commerçants qui sont tous à proximités,la propreté de la chambre n'était pas satisfaisante,les serviettes n'étaient pas changé tous les jours,on ne nous donnait pas de papier toilette tous les jours ,nous étions obligé de le réclamé,tous les soirs au niveau de notre fenetre il y avait un goutte à goutte qui se faisait au niveau de l'evacuation de la climatisation,et enfin le prix du petit déjeuner qui était exorbitant par rapport aux terrasses de café .nous n'avons pas l'intention d'y retourner.

“Honnête”

“In Ordnung”

Insgesamt ein gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, manche Dinge aber reduzierten den Gesamteindruck, so wie z.B. abgewohnte Teppiche, veraltete Badezimmer, tropfende Wasserhähne, ein muffiger Geruch im Treppenhaus. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, die Lage okay.

“Deçu”

Ben voilà, on s'attendait à un hotel 3 étoiles et on a eu un 2 étoiles au mieux !!! Pas de service d'étages, pas de coffre en chambre,un mini bar(frigo) qui ne fonctionnait pas, une chasse d'eau defectueuse, une magnifique vue sur....un mur !!!! Mais bon, le personnel est super gentil, souriant et très serviable ; c'est deja ça!

Traveller's tip
attention à tous : -Le petit déj est en plus (à 9euros) et pour le prix il n'y a rien d'exceptionnel...y'a une boulangerie juste à coté qui fait le café...c'est au moins aussi bien (et moins cher!) -le parking bien que pratique est également payant(6euros la nuit!!!)...on a rien sans rien!
