“Downtown Heraklion”

The Lato Boutique hotel is situated in an excellent location, close to the harbour, the bus station, the taxi rank and many attractions. Heraklion's centre is as labyrinthine as the legendary site of Knossos, but the Lato hotel is easy to find and convenient for the bars, clubs, restaurants and cafes of the main gathering places. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good, with a wide selection of cold buffet foods and some hot favourites. The Brillant restaurant is well-appointed and very reasonably priced for a traveller using Sterling. There is of course no pool as the hotel is sited in the centre of the city and the city itself lacks swimming facilities. The archaeology museum, Venetian Koules fort,natural history museum and historical museum are all within 10 minutes' walk. Being removed from the pedestrian area the locality is not noisy at night. A very pleasing hotel in a good location, and excellent value for money.

“Perfect Location”

This is a mid-sized hotel about a minute from the the harbour. The hotel has an annex across the road and if you want quick and easy access to the restaurant and the mini-gym then perhaps specifying that you want to stay in the main building may be a good idea. Having said that, the annex appears to be a newer building. Our room was small but very comfortable and well appointed; there was a balcony with a table and chairs. The room did not contain a kettle although there is a fridge and mini-bar. The breakfasts are outstanding with an enormous selection of hot and cold food including fruit. The evening restaurant, The Brilant, is very good if a wee bit expensive compared with other restaurants in town. On the roof is Herbs' Garden serving a similar menu, snacks and drinks. We really enjoyed our stay and must especially commend the reception staff who were unfailingly helpful with suggestions and information about Heraklion and the surrounding area.

“My stay at Lato”

though my room was small it had a good view of the harbour, with my own balcony. the room and hotel are nicely decorated. the staff were friendly and helpful. the breakfast was good. the situation of the hotel is excellant near to the sea front, the centre of town and the bus station. I would defelently stay there again

“The perfect location”

The Hotel is at 5 min walk from the port. Our room had an excellent view on the port, but the balcony is very small (2 persons can barely fit)! The hotel is in a quiet area but at the same time very close (3 min walk) to the main street 25 August and the Morosini fountain which is the central square. The room is very clean, nice, small but ok. The bathroom is not renovated, it has old tiles and an old ceramic bagno and is very small. The breakfast is rich and good. They have nutella with crepes Mmmmmm! It is a good hotel and the staff is nice and helpful.

“wonderful hotel”

We were very pleased with the hotel. We came in on a ferry from Santorini around 9pm; it was dark and we did not know the city at all. We could see the hotel name from the port. We were very happy with the service, accommodations, and location of the hotel. thank you!

“A great hotel at a great price”

We were very pleased with choice. The rooms are small but ours came with great views of the port. The service was excellent. The hotel staff helped us in many ways.

“Great location”

I arrived in Heraklion late in the evening via ferry, and was so relieved to be able to see the hotel from the port. A quick convenient walk from the ferry, close to the main square. Also a close walk to the bus stop, which was convenient to catch the bus to Chania. The hotel was clean and modern, with a nice big breakfast. I made the mistake of booking a single room (for 1 person only), so when my husband showed up with me, we had to pay a 20 euro difference. My fault - but still kinda sucked.

“Modern boutique hotel with fantastic view”

Our room had a fantastic view facing the Venetian port and Venetian fort. The room was a little small but very clean and well maintained with working air-conditioner and free wi-fi. The staff were all very friendly and helpful too. The only minor complaint we had was that the shower enclosure did not close properly and theree was always some water leak, but all in all, we are very happy staying there and would certainly recommend it to anybody visiting Heraklion. The location cannot be faulted. Easy reach to the town centre including the main attractions, the main bus station, and the port.

“Pleasant hotel convenient to sites and transportation”

Hotel was a short walk from the bus depot and the harbour and very near to restaraunts and shops. Room was nice with a small balcony to have coffee or a drink. Free internet and a very good breakfast was included.
