The Lake House on Canandaigua

"I didn't know that Easter weekend was considered off season, so none of the spa amenities (which is why we went) were available. We had to find places off site to get those services. Only one of the restaurants on site were open more than 1 day of the trip. The more pub style restaurant was only open 1 day and they had no openings if you didn't book a reservation. I have a teenager and the only restaurant of the two that was open, was the more formal one and they did not have enough of a variety of options that would appeal to a teenager, so we only ate where we stayed once and found really nice smaller local establishments in the area. While they say you can make a reservation to eat at the restaurants, you won't be able to eat in them without a reservation. Staff was very friendly and helpful, but I wish they had something that listed their off season times, communicated that during off season certain amenities would not be available, or at least provide some services during the off season for people who book at their establishment."

"Upon arrival we were directed to a room that reeked of cigarette smoke. Supposedly this is a non-smoking property. We were given another room but it was not a King as we had reserved. The entire property shows very visible signs of wear. We would not expect to return to this location in the future."

"The hotel is in the middle of renovations, NO AC, Only 1Elevator works, all this information was given @ check in. It was 85 degrees in the room, they offered no fans or AC units. These types of renovation the hotel should COMPLETELY shut down until they are fully able to run normally. They offered a 5% discount upon checkout which was a joke. Breakfast was half setup, it was just not a great stay whatsoever!!"

"Newly-decorated and stylish. Easy access from the highway and close to shops (Walmart/Target). Staff were polite and efficient. The bed was super comfy. Linens and towels were immaculate. Breakfast was a nice bonus. Very reasonably priced!"

"The room was very clean and the room was comfortable. All of the staff were extremely kind. I do not eat breakfast at hotels unless I know I am not going to be able to eat for awhile. This breakfast was the best breakfast I have EVER EATEN at a hotel. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. They eggs were real and not from a carton. The manager was super engaging and friendly with everyone that came through the door."

"AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS…. Pay the extra $100 to stay somewhere clean and where the guests are more respectful. I checked In, put my stuff In the room. First thing was the room next to me had more than 1 dog In there barking like crazy, the smell In the room was unbearable the clothes I had on stunk like the room and I was only In there for about ten minutes. I left to find another hotel and came back to cancel the stay and got a big run around never got my money back. DISGUSTING PLACE…"
