Ok for a few hours sleep

Posted 17-Apr-2014 on Hotels.com
My family needed a Hotel for the night close to College Station, this was the closet thing with availability. location was perfect as it did not take us off our desired path. The Hotel is run down, and I very much felt like I would go home with a case of Bed Bugs, The room was stuffy and the AC smelled funky, I opened the windows they were double windows and I thought that was odd, until about 2AM when I started to hear the trains going by and I realized it was for sound proofing. I would not stay again. The good news, No Bed Bugs.

Aggie Football

Posted 14-Nov-2013 on Hotels.com
I went there to attend a TEXAS A & M football game. The motel was clean but uncomfortable. The mattress on my bed forced me to lean/sleep to my right. This motel caters to railroad personal and before I knew who they were, I thought what kind of "hangout" is this. The staff was helpful and courteous. The location is good and there are restaurants close by. If you don't need anything but a clean place to sleep this will work.

Very Disappointed

Posted 21-Oct-2013 on Hotels.com
We attemped to check-in 30 min early but were unable (understood). We told them we'd be back for late check-in and proceeded to our college visit to return late that evening. Around 9:30p, we called back and told front desk we wouldn't be arriving until after 1am, BUT we would be there. We finally arrived about 1:30a to find that the evening shift hadn't communicated with nite shift about our arrival so we had no clean room ready. We weren't the only ones in lobby with this issue. Since we didn't have many options, we waited in car (with child) for the room to get clean. Housekeeping was very apologetic, but the front desk, not so much. We finally layed our head on pillow around 3am.

Unenjoyable visit

Posted 21-Oct-2013
Arrived at 1:30 am. Called hotel day before that we would arrive late. Upon our arrival, we had to wait 20 -25 minutes until they cleaned our room. Multiple people checking in and out at this time of night. Very unusual to us. Beds had very poor mattresses. Coffe pot in the room with no coffee or supplies. Room was marginally clean with some debris on the floor. Not sure how much sanitizing was done. We won't stay here again. Diner adjacent to the motel had a nice retro feel with good food. Would eat there again.

never again

Posted 19-Sep-2013 on Hotels.com
I hated this place. It was a nightmare from check-in when the keys to the room didn't work. The second night, when I tried to enter my room, a strange naked man opened the door. It seems they moved my room without notification. They tried to charge me more and said I had reserved the room with Expedia. It was a total nightmare. Never Again!

Oak Tree Inn ok place

Posted 17-Sep-2013
Pros: The price is fair. It is adjacent to an excellent and unique eating place, "Penny's Diner"!
Cons: The bed... also, maybe offer some basics for breakfast.
Location: Eat at Penny's Diner! A very clean place and the waiters and cooks are very accommodating.
Everything was ok except the bed. The mattress sloped to the middle. Not comfortable. This is a railroad town so expect to hear rumbling during the night.
