Basic stay while traveling

Posted 22-Apr-2015
Room was old, in need of upgrade, but clean and comfortable enough for my needs. Traveling long distances on a motorcycle requires a hot shower, and clean sheets, both of which I received. Price was reasonable, restaurant across the street was good. Would stay again.

The staff was very nice and the room was huge. There was a pool and pool table for the kids to enjoy

The room smelled worse than my garage. That should sum it up.

Cons: You are removing and that is good.
You get what you pay for. When you are traveling between OR and AZ there aren't many choices.

Not bad if you don't want hot water in your shower

Posted 08-Feb-2015
Cons: hot water
When we checked in, there were only smoking rooms left, so unfortunately we were stuck. We were there for a basketball event so it would have made sense to have that group of individuals grouped together. Unfortunately, we were stuck next to a group of late night party animals! And I do mean"animals" because there was an actual barking dog in the room next to ours. The "real" disappointment came though in the morning when I went to shower and discovered there was no hot water. Upon checkout, I realized I was not the only one with this problem because the employee was on the phone taking another complaint about the same problem.

About what I expected

Considering the location of the motel, and the reasonable price, and the local economy, it was a decent place to stay.

El Capitan Lodge

Pros: We were on a road trip from Las Vegas to Lake Tahoe and this was about the half way point. Food at the casino was very good.
Cons: For the price of the room and reading previous reviews, we pretty much knew what we were getting. Modernization would be a big plus.
Location: Don't really know as we were there for the night heading to Tahoe the next morning.
Badly needs a makeover. Bathroom floor and corners weren't very clean. In fact, staff at the desk were talking about the rooms not being appropriately cleaned and ready for customers. TV was extremely old and didn't get good reception. Light bulbs were out over one of the beds, over the the TV and in the bathroom. Keys to the room were the old fashioned key and didn't feel particularly safe.
