“Beautiful hotel and pools”
Amazing hotel. Our room was pool view, but we still had a view of the ocean... and there are 3 different pools and hot tubs so it was pleasant to look at! Love this hotel, would definitely stay there again... the only downside was the restaraunt was super expensive!!! $22 for a double cheeseburger! So next time we'll eat somewhere else but loved the pools and beach. Also went snorkeling right from the hotels beach. Gorgeous reef and many fish.
“Nice and comfy”
This hotel was nice and comfy. The rooms were clean and the grounds were beautiful. Close to a nice beach with sea turtles!
“Heaven on Earth”
The grounds were amazing, beach was less than a 3 minute walk which made watching the sunset that much more enjoyable to watch!
“Good location compared to 4 Seasons and Fairmont”
The beds are too soft for us at the Marriott and the pillows are not too comfortable either, but they did turn the mattress to the hard side which made our rest better. Very friendly and pleasant staff.
“exactly what we expected”
We had a great time at waikoloa Marriott. The location of the hotel is ideal,.within walking distance of restaurants and shops. We found the rooms adequate and the staff helpful and friendly.
“Great location, nice grounds”
Loved the location and the pool area. There are two shopping areas nearby that you can walk to. Lots of good restaurants and grocery stores. The only drawback to the hotel was the restaurant. The food was a little disappointing. I would skip eating at the Marriott hotel restaurant and walk to the nearby ones instead. Merriman's Cafe across the street is a must. But everything else at the hotel was perfect! Great service, rooms, and staff!
“A fairly good deal”
My wife and I stayed here for a few days at the end of a trip, and our experience was OK. I got a great deal on Expedia for a garden view room. I was surprised at how small the room felt when we got there. The mattress was super soft, and we asked for a harder mattress. Rather than change the mattress, they moved us to a different room with a harder mattress. The second room smelled like someone had just cleaned up a horrible mess, so we moved to a third room, which turned out to be pretty good. The room was still bigger than the first, and it faced the center courtyard, rather than the parking lot. The bathroom (toilet/shower) is tiny, and the ceilings feel really low. I'm a fairly tall person, so I felt like a giant in the shower. The caulk around the tub looked bad, but the room seemed very clean otherwise. The customer service was great! They were very accomodating with the bed/room changes, and they were happy to help us with whatever we needed. The pools were great, and we had no trouble finding good chairs to use by the pool. Overall, I was pretty happy with the hotel. For the price I paid, I don't think I could have gotten a better deal in Waikoloa.
“Fire pits in evening”
The room was very comfortable and it was very handy to have a small safe in the room for when we went swimming. The beach and pool were very convenient and the towels from the towel hut very helpful. One of my favorite things was sitting in front of the fire pit on the balcony/lobby every evening.
“Wonderful place to stay on the Big Island”
We had a wonderful time. The staff were great and the room was clean. The view of the ocean and the lava field was wonderful, would definitely go back again.
“Perfect place to relax”
This was our second stay at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott and we liked it just as much as the first time. The selling feature for us is their private beach and nice infinity pool area (our first visit was in May and this one was in October, so we've avoided crowds on both visits). Sea turtles were right there in the ocean and a few came up on the sand in the evening. The hotel's location is walking distance to the Kings' and Queens' shops, which is perfect for food and shopping. Overall, we find it to be a very comfortable, nice hotel for a relaxing vacation.
