“Surprised to find room not clean”
We checked in and was shocked to find our room was not cleaned very well. Cherrios on the floor, dried dirt on the floor and splattered on the wall and worst of all found a pubic hair on the bed sheet. We requested another room and it was cleaner, however bathroom floor had pubic hair! Tired of moving around, ended up laying towels on the floor instead. Definetly not worth the price.

“Perfect stay”
from check-in to check-out, we have been treated exquisitely. The hotel is suited on a vast area and fully lives up to the pictures on the homepage, it is almost spotless. There is a massive pool with plenty of sun beds, along with a small but pretty beach. in the bay immediately in front of the hotel you'd find tropic fish and sea turtles within 3-5 meters into the water. The room we booked was garden view but we got a pool view room instead, spacious, very clean, just nice. Room service was really good, we ordered pizza one night, fresh from the stone oven, really good. The hotel offers a lot of food outlets, all of which we tried were excellent.
“Honeymoon in Paradise... Thank you Fairmont Orchid!”
Extraordinary!
“Wonderful getaway”
the Fairmont Orchid was an amazing place to spend a few days! The property is wonderful - well maintained, beautiful and relaxing. The rooms were great - spacious, airy, beautiful bathroom, really just perfect. Similarly, the pool was well set up - lots of lounging opportunities, and the beach was private and close at hand, if very family oriented. The service was wonderful - very friendly and helpful. Overall a wonderful getaway and I would go back in a heartbeat - the hotel is well designed; you really don't feel very crowded and as mentioned very beautiful, tropical grounds. My only negative - be prepared to pay a fortune for meals. Most of the restaurants at the Fairmont were extremely pricey (we didnt try the breakfast/lunch deli) but you are a bit captive - its a bit of a drive back to Kona, and we didnt find anything in Kona that was that amazing.
“Looking at a return trip for our 1 yr anniversary!”
For the first time I can say this resort lived up to expectations. Everything you could ask for in service was excellent. No flaws in valet to spa treatment service. Recommend a package with the morning buffet which is a money saver and full fillingDidn't try any restraunts in the hotel which was pricey and didn't look like a full plate. Looked at nearby restraunts and no lack of food. Swimming and snorkling in the cove was great for us. Saw others with children who were having a blast with different activities for all ages. The great part of the swimming was actually having a sea turtle right next to you.
“Extremely Nice Hotel”
Would stay here again.
“Hawaiian Honeymoon”
I was pleased to find that the hotel that was advertised not only lived up to its pictures and reviews, but exceeded my expectations. The hotel staff was very friendly and exceedingly helpful. The grounds are everything you imagined Hawaii to be. The only drawback, like other reviews I have read, is that the food is expensive. There were other options if you researched and asked locals what and where to go, so we chose to eat most of our meals off site.
“Would return”
Beautiful hotel and grounds. Beach is sheltered so very safe for children. Only downside is the cost of food and drinks is very high, so we would go off property to dine.
“Vacation in Hawaii”
Nice place. Wish they have better restaurants.
