“Great manta ray viewing at night”
Enjoyed the manta ray viewing and the free fruit punch. Well maintained and clean gardens. However, the building has only 2 elevators for wing 4 and it takes a while to get up to the rooms. The only way to access the parking lot is through the main entrance. Limited dining selection on site. Parking is too far and limited.
“As good as it gets”
This is the place locals from the other side of the island take their families for a weekend getaway. It is a beautiful physical facility, the staff is friendly and helpful. Even though my wife and I were traveling without family it seemed so kid oriented we wish we had brought our kids and grandkids. The menu at the restaurants has limited choices, but excellent quality. I never give 5's, but this is an exception. I marked down location to a 4 because without a car this location would have been a little remote from other non-resort activities. We went during the dead week after Thanksgiving and stayed ten days with only one real problem. They don't serve Coca Cola products and the rum and pepsi didn't make it. We felt like crooks sneaking coke for rum and coke.
“Needs updating”
Aging hotel, needs serious updating Kids love pool and water slide Price reflects state.
“Can't wait to go back”
My family stayed there for five days last week, and I would say I am very happy choose this hotel. The hotel location is great, swimming pool is big and beautiful, my baby loved sandy pool and water slides. Hotel staff is friendly too. for sure, I would likje recommend this hotel to my friends.
“Thanksgiving Stay at the Sheraton”
Although this is not a new hotel, it is well maintained and very nice. We had a wonderful stay during Thanksgiving. The hotel was not busy but still fully staffed - and we were very well taken care of. The food at the restaurants was decent and not as over-priced as many other hotels. We absolutely loved snorkeling right off the hotel's beach. Although it is a rocky beach that has no easy approach to the water, the snorkeling is amazing if you can find a way in. The manta rays showed up every night we were there - a big bonus for the Sheraton! Another note - as a customer I appreciate that the Sheraton is making a very strong environmental effort. I noticed that the cafe and coffee shop use compostable plates, cups, and cutlery - and the hotel offered a small room subsidy to customers who chose to help the environment each day you opt out of the cleaning service.
“Great hotel at a great location”
Hotel is excellent with great amenities. It is ideally located at a central place yet in a quiet neighbourhood.
“Will Stay Here Again”
We choose this hotel for the proximity to restaurants and the ocean view; both met our expectations. What really impressed us about this hotel was the service. We flew in late to Hilo side of the island, not realizing that our hotel was Kona side. We got lost a few times, and never saw a restaurant. We had a 10 year old who was starving by this time (airplane food was not enough). By the time we got to our hotel, the restaurants had closed. On top of that, we somehow got a room with only one bed. The hotel put a roll away bed in our room for free, and the gentlman who did this also sent up food from their kitchens for our son, even though their restaurant was closed. The only thing I did not like was that it did not seem to get cold in the room (I like 69 degrees at night), so I was sweating every night. Otherwise, this was a great hotel.
“Kristen A.”
We really enjoyed the hotel. They had our room ready early and it was in a great location. Very Beautiful and worth the price.
“Lovely location and very spacious rooms”
We loved this location. It is a little further up the Kona coast on Highway 19 and is tucked against the aqaumarine bay.. Absolutely loved this location for the proximity to all fun things and yet maintaining its calm and quiet surroundings
“Not at all impressed”
My sister and I just got back and while we were happy with our trip overall the hotel was lacking. The service was fantastic and the employees great, very friendly and helpful. Our problem was the quality of the rooms. Their were stains on the carpet and curtains, the bathroom was very old and it was difficult to flush the toliet. I was expecting so much more then we got. I expected a more modern and less worn room.
