Adequate accommodation for overnight stay

Posted 07-Apr-2014 on Hotels.com
The lodge itself is located at a different address than the check in office. We arrived after hours, and our check in information was ready and available just outside the office door. However, we had to go back the next day to officially "register". The room was small, but well equipped. Sadly, the beds and pillows were so uncomfortable neither of us were able to get much sleep. So we left as soon as we could. Would not stay there again.

Good hotel, great value breakfast

Posted 06-Apr-2014 on Hotels.com
We stayed here on our final night after a couple of weeks of camping and was just what we needed. The room was comfortable and clean and the bathroom spacious with a good shower. The breakfast was great value, $6.25 for continental which we really enjoyed.

Overall it was okay. Location was perfect if you plan to explore Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Theres not a lot of good restaurants in that area. The walls of our room are thin so you can hear some noise coming from the other room but fortunately the noise was a brief one because guests checking in there are always out so we could live with it =)

Nice hotel for family or people with cars.

Posted 22-Mar-2014
Pros: the way it decorated, helpfulness of the staff, environment, and the kitchen.
Cons: maybe add some services like rental bike or shuttle tours.
Location: very close to the volcano national park with car.a great place for hiking or biking.
This hotel is really far away from downtown and not easy to find. if you don't drive, taxi may cost a lot, because bus system is not that convenient on Big Island. Besides, when i checked in, I was told that my room was not the same place with the lobby but several miles away from it, and if I wanted to live near, I needed to pay an extra fee. However, the rooms are so well decorated with kitchen and a large bathroom. There are many paintings and other decorations in every room.I also love the environment there, for it's very close to nature. overall,it's a great place to have a good rest of the year.

Clean, quiet hotel in beautiful setting.

Posted 13-Feb-2014
Pros: Pretty much everything!
Cons: Window coverings, pillows.
Location: Immediately adjacent to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park -- self-explanatory.
The Lokahi Lodge is one of a group of small inns managed by the Chalet Kilauea Collection. It is just minutes from the entrance to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and a very pleasant place to stay while visiting the park. Though modest, our room was spacious, with 2 queen beds, a full bath/shower, and a small kitchenette, with coffee maker & mini fridge. A Hawaiian continental breakfast is offered, at a reasonable rate, though it is located at another of the facilities. It included cold cereals, bagels, toast, a variety of Hawaiian sweet breads, and a sumptuous variety of local fruits. The hotel is situated in a lovely garden setting, and offers a hot tub on the lanai for guests' use. The night we were there, it was incredibly quiet and dark! Wonderful!

Conveniently located to the National Park

Posted 22-Jun-2013
The room was small but clean, the bathroom was recently updated and there were adequate towels and toiletries. Being only a mile or so from the National Park this lodge is reasonably priced and convenient. The in-room fridge/freezer was nice and there was a coffee maker (though no coffee). Check-in is down the road a few blocks but they gave great directions. The dehumidifier was loud but though the lodge was full we didn't hear a word or sound from any other guests.

Short Stay Only

Posted 25-May-2013
An average hotel. Ok for a short stay. I wouldn't stay there very long as it is a bit cramped.
