“Great Hotel to stay at.”
We thought it was a great place to stay and would go back. Clean and very comfortable. Everyone who worked their always said Aloha and were helpful. The pool was clean and inviting. We only ate breakfast at the hotel and it was good but pricey! Beautiful surroundings, of course your in Hawaii! Next time we will ask for a room that viewed the ocean. Malaho.
“Best hotel at best location”
Great location, you are in the middle of everything. Name it and it is very close.
“can recommend it absolutely!”
The COMPLETE personal staff was very clever, because they were very friendly and helpful, therefore it was not a problem sometimes to give more than 10% tip. The location to Kona town was perfect, only in a few minutes reachable (by feet along the ocean) and you can see beautiful sunset`s on this location. Kona town is nice too, because there a wera a lot of shops and restaurants with view to the ocean. There was NOT a loud and stressful surrounding the hotel; it was restful to lie or to sit on the pool. I don`t like loud music, because it`s tiring to chat to each other. But in this hotel it was very comfortable to spend your time on the pool or pool-bar!!! The pool was nice, not very big, but I had enough space to swim. The cocktails and the food on the pool-bar was also fine. You can have dinner in the restaurant and they offer a big buffet and menu, but was to expensive for us. We had breakfast there and enjoyed it very much, because the waitress was very friendly, the view to the beach was great, the tables was neat, clean and all was a little elegant. The hotel room was also quiet. You didn`t hear anything. We had a big flat screen TV in our room and the room was neat and elegant too. It was very comfortable for us to have a fridge and a additional couch in the room. The complete Hotel area (inside and outside) was neat, clean and modern! The hotel also had free Wifi!!! One thing was not good: the parking fee was too expensive. 70 US$ for 1 week - too much!!!!!!
“Kona Visit”
The hotel in general will satisfy anyone's need for a nice comfortable stay. It should be noted that there is no room service, so you must take care of all needs related to a cozy in room meal, etc. The bath rooms do not have exhaust fans and the door is a sliding vented wood door; so you guys better go down to the lobby in the mornings.... There is no AC temperature control (althought the thermostat acts like you can control it), there is fan control and it seemed to do the trick. When reserving be sure to get the OCEAN view; otherwise you may be looking at another wing of the building. There is a great ocean pool beach with access to the ocean should you want to kayak or stand up paddle board!! Overall, great place with a good location for walking around the town!! Aloha and Mahalooooo!
“Just Perfect!”
We loved the room. It was clean and very quiet even though it was in a busy location. Would stay there again. The Expedia package with flight, hotel and rental car made it all so affordable. We even saw a wedding on the white sand beach near the restaurant! Will stay there again.
“Very comfortable, great location”
This was a bigger hotel then I expected. I was very clean and comfortable and the location can't be beat. The room I was originally assigned did not have the view I expected but, when I mentioned it to the front desk, they took care of it immediately and assigned me to a great room. All of the conveniences one would need are located right in the hotel. The only complaint I might have was that the cleanliness of the hot tub was a little questionable. Otherwise, this would be a very highly recommended place to stay in Kona, HI.
“Luxury, Comfort, Beauty at an Amazing Price”
We stayed at the King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel for 5 nights. We had the most amazing time. They have such a friendly staff, clean facility and everything you need is right outside your door. Accommodations:The rooms are comfortable and spacious. My only complain was that the AC was not so powerful. The room was a bit warm, but not uncomfortable at all. Snorkeling: We paid for a tour and drove 30 minutes away to go snorkeling when all we needed to do was to go to the hotels white sand beach and snorkel there. Its perfect for first time snorkelers and you will see little kids in the water swimming with the fish. Just go to the ABC Store (convenience/gift shop) inside of the store and buy snorkeling gear. You will have a blast. The pool is relaxing and so is the restaurant bar located within the pool area. You are 5 feet away from the beach. The meeting and media room has televisions, couches, internet and printers, everything you need to relax or take care of business. Pier: The pier is right outside the hotel. You can see marine life at anytime of the day/night. Beautiful! Shops/Dining: At walking distance you have an array of stores and restaurants to choose from. You can do all your shopping in the area. There is a good 5 miles stretch of shops and restaurants. Overall, we will definitely come back to King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel. There staff and amenities deserve 5 stars.
“Good location, nice room”
The King Kamehameha is located right in the heart of old Kona and a replica of the old Hawaiian king's personal temple is located on the grounds. It was recently renovated and is under new ownership, but is basically a 1970s hotel, decorated with nice paintings depicting Hawaiian history and legend. Although it is on the beach, although the seaside locale is perhaps not quite as attractive as tht of other resorts in the vicinity. However, I snorkeled in the ocean next to the hotel, and found plenty of interesting fish!
“Big Island Hospitality”
We stayed here in the past before the renovations and repairs (tsunami). They've fixed the place up very nicely (also, it became a Marriott Courtyard while we were there) and have a very friendly and helpful staff, as before. Food and drink were very good and the nearby shops/restaurants included some really great hidden treasures. Some great history to be found within 5 minutes' walk, including Hulihe'e Palace's excellent tour. Good access by car to all points on the island and neat beaches and snorkeling places.
“Clean and convenient”
It is right at the start of the main drag on Alii street which is a big plus. The rooms are clean. However, the bed is too soft and the building exterior shows its age. The landscaping is also in need of attention. If you need a good place to stay that is right downtown or as a launching point for other activities, this is a good choice. If you want a resort style "you never leave the grounds" type of place, there are several better alternatives within 15 miles.
