We only stayed for one night at this beautiful hotel (such a shame would of loved to have stayed longer) as we were invited to the Hunt Ball at the Montague Suite just around the corner from the hotel. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful, the décor beautiful, nice to have an open fire in the reception...... couldn't really fault anything at all. Thank you and we will be back next year.

Very pleasant and helpful staff. Rooms were kept clean and tidy, bathroom was in excellent condition; mattress on the bed was a bit stiff though. Very quiet and calm atmosphere suitable for families and couples. Highly recemmended and would love to go back.

"Genuinely great service, staff and wonderfully comfortable rooms - Visit, you won't be dissappointed"
I cannot recommend the Black Rock Guest House highly enough. I was made to feel immediately welcome by the charming owner before being taken to an amazing room with an enormous bathroom on the first floor. The bedding was beautifully crisp, bathrobes lovely and soft and the complimentary drink very welcome on a warm spring day. The Black Rock is superbly decorated and furnished. If you had some friends who were an architect and interior designer with exquisite taste that had a home you were always jealous of when you visited it would be like visiting the Black Rock. The service was first class, with nothing too much bother. Unfortunately I missed breakfast due to a rather late night but the owner offered a bacon sandwich when I rolled into the lounge at midday. This came between thick buttered slabs of fresh bread, accompanied by freshly squeezed juice and coffee. For a traveller more used to being tsked at for missing breakfast it was a very welcome surprise. My only regret is that Hastings is not somewhere I regularly visit as I would love to stay at the Black Rock again. If only all hotels could be like it.

Arrived quiet late around 10pm and was unaware you had to go through restaurant with a different name to the hotel in order to book in luckily a guest saw us looking confused and told us we had a friendly welcome. Room is nice with a big tv on wall the only issue I had was I didn't get much sleep as room was next to the road which wasn't really a problem apart from there was some kind of alarm that went off every morning at the same time so I was shattered . Breakfast was good first morning we had a full English and there was a Buffett that went with it with croissants and cereal, toast , juice . Didn't see much off the staff and I wasn't too sure who was running the hotel I think it was the restaurant owner but we did enjoy our stay and the rooms are nice with free shampoo and shower gel and tea and coffee in the room . Good location also as close to everything
A lovely welcome - a huge bathroom, even if just across the corridor it was all ours. Very clean, comfortable and peaceful, if a little dated. Hosts absolutely superb - made you feel really welcome and left us be. Breakfast was just wonderful - great food, relaxed surroundings. Thank you.
