“A Mixed Bag in Downtown Hartford”

Generally, the hotel staff was friendly. The house staff had not made up the sofa bed before our arrival which had been requested. The kitchenette in the room was useful and would make a longer stay easier to navigate. It took two requests in the morning before the front desk staff had two post-graduation college students sleeping in the hallway outside our door moved -- something about a lost key -- but we had to step over them to go down for breakfast and they were there when we went back up and had to make the request to the front desk a second time. To be fair to the management, they were dealing with a lot of post-graduation college students and 1-2 wedding parties over this weekend. The breakfast food was barely edible. The circle of eggs didn't look like eggs. The bagels were tasteless; the coffee grim. Nothing seemed appetizing. The decor was old and seemed worn. It was a run-down establishment in the heart of Hartford, Connecticut. Given the prime location, it would be worth the investment to refurnish the interior of the hotel. Parking was easy and accessible both in front of and behind the hotel. It was functional but we would not recommend it to anyone unless they were looking solely for a reasonable price for a room/suite in the center of Hartford
