“Good hotel for the price.”

The room needed some work, but you won't find the same room for the same price anywhere else. I wished it was closer to Hartford, but the Hotels in the city are more expensive.

“NEVER COMING BACK”

Very rude and poor service. Despite the reservation clearly spelled out for an nonsmoking room, the hotel insists that they can do whatever they want and will not consider our requests. Ammenities were of poor quality and if you needed a basic hotel toiletry that's normally complementary, you would get charged for it! Plus, the obnoxiously smelly rooms are only cleaned once a week!

“Great Stress free experience”

We needed a quick overnight stay on a road trip and this place was awesome. we checked in around midnight without a problem. When we saw the room we wished we had goteen there earlier and had time enjoy it. Very clean and comfortable. AC, cable and wireless all worked perfectly( things you take for granted until they're not available) 1 bdrm suite had a frig, stove, microwave and dining table. Food shop in lobby was open 24 hrs so it wwas perfect for a late night snack. Nothing that resembled a problem at this place!!!

Area recommendations

Diner right across the street-Dunkin' Donuts in the gas station next door is only an outpost. There's a real DD right across Rt 91.

It's a convenient location near the highway but can't hear traffic in the hotel. Very clean and a surprising value.

We only went to the theater.It was about 11 minutes away.We went for a concert.It was awesome

The Oakdale Theatre is were we went to the concert.Beautiful place.Excellent concert with the goo Goo dolls.Would go there again.

“Great for a 2 star!”

My room was clean and quiet. Staff was courteous. Very pleasant stay for a 2 star hotel. The only gripe I have is that I had an emergency and had to check out a day early and the hotel would not refund me for that one day. :-(

“Love Candlewood chain....this hotel a little lacking though”

Overall, good stay. There were cobwebs in the corners around the ceiling, and the front desk was difficult to get late at night. Also, the room phones weren't plugged in. Free laundry room and exercise room were a great added bonus.

“Another stay at Candlewood Meriden”

This was our second stay at Candlewood in Meriden. The room was just what we wanted for a one-night in-transit stay. The room was clean and comfortable and we had a very restful night due to the quietness.
