Hotel was very nice. Single room comfy not poky - 4th floor so good view as well. Excellent shower and nice breakfast. This was not one of the newly fitted rooms but in spite of that it was lovely - I did worry a bit when read about all the comments of tired decor and so on. The staff were really helpful (brought me two extra pillows as I like to be propped up high) and found out info on how to get a bus to RHS Harlow Carr near Harrogate. The ony thing that marred it was the fact that the HOme and Gift show was on two days after I was there so they were busy setting up marquees in the garden. THis meant I was not able to walk around the gardens (one of the reasons I chose this hotel) which was a big shame, especially as the weather was lovely.
We have stayed at the West Park three times and although we would not normally recommend hotels to friends as individual tastes are different we would not hesitate in recommending this hotel. So comfortable and welcoming.

one night stay for trade fair...single room......needed a bigger bed.... should be double bed for single occupancy however.
room was clean, shower was fine.
breakfast was good
check out and check in fine
room rate good
would have liked a car park space, but first come basis and parking is easy at the exhibition centre....you can arrange a discount rate for 2 plus day stay on floor 4!
Generally a good stay but the breakfast should be avoided.
1. breakfast staff walking around with shirts hanging out and 'muffin tops' hanging over top of trousers...not what you want to see when eating breakfast!
2. took three attempts to get a decent coffee and each time staff (inc. management didn't seem all that bothered and failed to listen to my complaints)
3. Turn the music down or off altogether - crappy pop music on a Sunday morning?!
Stayed 2 nights Fri / Sat in room 22 bed & breakfast
Good location a short walk from town with space for parking.
A nice room let down slightly by being on the 2nd floor (no lift), nowhere to put anything in the bathroom (no hooks or side table)
Some niggles but overall a good place to stay for a reasonable price
