Pros: The massage therapist was really Professional.
Cons: some items in the room were broken or chipped.
The room nice, but there was some things that needed to be repair, the door for example. We went for breakfast at 9am and some items were missing or cold.

Lovely experience

Posted 26-Mar-2014
Pros: Ambiance, food.
Location: There were a few shops selling herbs and ayuvedic medicines very close to the hotel. The shop keeper will tell you the benefits of each herb and you c
Beautiful haveli. Very pleasant rooms with an old world charm yet well equipped with all that one may need on a holiday. A beautiful sit out area for your morning tea/coffee overlooking the Ganga. Watch out for the monkeys though. The meals were fabulous. Breakfast was a wonderful spread of Indian as well as well as continental options...for those who like their oats and toast. They had a classical singer in the evening, a gentleman with a fabulous, soul stirring voice and the ambiance of the place added to it. They have a pandit who escorts you to the evening aarti at Har Ki Pauri and it becomes so much convenient for those of us who do not want to deal with the local tuts offering to perform an aarti for us. Ofcourse be prepared to be approached by some an acquaintance of the pandit who will offer to perform a special prayer and talk you into donating a certain amount (starting at Rs 1000) for all the pandits in haridwar, and then a seperate amount to feed a certain number of pandits etc. The good thing is you can No..Thank you and they will cut short their 'special prayer' drastically and move on to someone else.

Nice hotel at quiet location

Posted 24-Mar-2014
Pros: Balcony area
Cons: Room and lobby area lighting
Good hotel but it is situated at a quiet location. Rooms and lobby area does not have much natural light and stay dark during daylight also. Rooms were clean and food was good. The communal balcony overlooking the river Ganges was best area of the hotel but not much action takes place at that part of the river.

Nice hotel located on the Ganges

The most impressive feature of this hotel is the staff. We had never traveled to India before and did not speak the language and the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating.

Pros: staff, location, atmosphere, additional services
Location: Lots of ashrams - its a major pilgrimage site. Rishikesh is very close
Very tranquill place. staff are really helpful - i made a special request for cake in room with flowers and it was done on neglible cost. the bhajans at night are out of this world - i would go back purely for that. the havan service is also very good. Arti service at halka puri ghat is good too BUT the pandits try and make you give all sorts of donations once there (this is not done by the hotel) i would say go to the ghat, enjoy the arti but say no to the pandits rip offs.

Excellent Hotel for all

Posted 31-May-2013
Excellent hotel, with extremely helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The location is great, food excellent with a wide variety to choose from and right on the Ganges. Would definately recommend to anyone coming to Haridwar. I had to change my flight so my wife emailed the new reservation to the hotel and they printed it out for me straightaway. The escorted trip to the evening aarti is fantastic as you get prime position on the steps of the ghat.

Very Good Hotel. However it is in NO ENTRY area.

The hotel is very good. However all future guests should be clear about two things. It is in a NO ENTRY area. So carry the hotel phone number with you to call them to organize your transport(Human Riksha) from there to hotel. Also goes without saying that it serves only vegetarian food.
