The property is old but clean and the staff are friendly, the area is very busy and our room on the front was across the road from several bars, which played music until about 1am ok if you are younger than us

-Location was super great, everything is within walking distance -there's a hostel/bar next door so expect lots of noise -Staff could be more friendly -Room has no windows. I'm claustrophobic and requested a room change. Of course they asked for additional charge which doesn't make me feel good. I think they should specified the details on the booking that there's no windows....maybe some compassion thoughts would be nice. -Breakfast was mediocre

Cheap good location
The bed is comfortable. The bathroom is very odd. The shower and toliet is on top of One another and the ceiling has some mold from the water hitting it. It very well located so you can walk everywhere. Staff is friendly and great free breakfast.

Everything was great. They questioned us while waiting in the lobby for our ride to pick us up, mind you it was 2:25pm and we were due to get picked up around 3 pm

Couldn’t accommodate us till after 7pm!!
The hotel was fine except for the fact that they couldn’t accommodate us till after 7pm!!! We first arrived at 4:30pm. We were told to keep coming back every half hour. They informed us the first time we returned that if we wanted to pay extra to upgrade our room they would accommodate us sooner or else it would be another 30 minutes. We continued to wait and were eventually accommodated. We would have contacted hotels.com for help but we were out of the country and had no access to phone signal and the hotel wouldn’t give us the WiFi code until we were checked in. We were very tired and upset that it took so long to get a room when check in time was many hours before our arrival.

When you arrived our hotel, receptionist tried to explain that our hotel was out of superior with balcony until 7PM (unexpected reason). We also offer you free upgrade to deluxe room but you refused that. We only had Suite room so receptionist ask you to pay extra to upgrade with reasonable price. There was a machine of some sort running constantly which created a terrible noise in the room. It could be a pump or air conditioning system on the roof.

Nice hotel in the Old Quarter
Nice hotel, the room we were in for the first night was a bit noisy so they moved us with no hassle. Breakfast was really good with lots of options.

The hotel is right at the center of Old Quarter (location is great if you want to be in the middle of actions, but it can noisy). The room is ok, I have reserved a suite with city view balcony but it seems a junior suite instead (a bit smaller compare to standard suite and no city view or maybe a glimpse of city view in a corner). Room is clean but basic (not luxury feelings). Staffs are nice and helpful.

Staff was friendly and helpful. The food was okay. We had a room with a balcony facing the street so it was very noisy at night when night life started. We booked two separate date stays with the first room not so good. The shower in the bathroom did not have a divider so the whole bathroom was wet when taking a shower. The second room was located more in the back of the hotel and was much better and less noisy. Hotel located very close to night market.

Location is covenient and the hotel is nice, perhaps the rooms need a little update. Just beware that the streets in the Old Quarter are crazy!

We loved the central location of this hotel. Hides amongst the hustle and bustle of Hanoi it was a very friendly and calming escape. It was walking distance to everything and the staff were extremely helpful. Only downside is it is next door to a backpackers so when they are partying you can here it but most of the rooms are double glazed so the hotel does their best to block out the noise.

Bell boys need to do their jobs instead of stand around talking and not paying attention to guests. We were given a room with no balcony and we booked with balcony. Instead of giving us a room with 2 beds like we booked, hotel gave us 1 bed, plus a rolled in bed that’s not really a bed because they said they are out of room with 2 beds. Staffs never once apologized for Amy of these inconveniences. Instead told us that Orbiz often falsely/incorrectly advertised the rooms, and for us to talk to Orbiz. I have emailed Orbiz with my issues but have not heard back.

With a dehumidifier would've been a lot better ha
The room was very small and incredibly damp from humidity... I had to sleep on a towel! And the shower just being over the toilet was pretty weird. The whole bathroom was sopping wet for hours after a shower. The front desk were very nice and it was right in party central. If you're looking for a sleepy vacay stay somewhere else-- I could hear people partying all night outside the window.. but I knew that's what I signed up for so I didn't mind that part :)

Average, not worth the price
Very average room (we didn’t realise that we booked room without window). The room was quite dark and gloomy even though we had all lights turned on. It didn’t smell or feel fresh, room size is small, lucky we had small bags. The only good thing about this hotel is its location, close, centre to everything. Not worth the price paid for/nor for being a 4 stars hotel.

Hotel in good location but I will never recommend to my friends/family because reception staff are incompetent and give you false information. How can a hotel staff overbook for rooms!!! We went out on tours all day and came back to find our room was not clean eventhough we had the sign "please clean room" up hanging from 8am!! The gym was horrible and old!! Need upgrading!! I would never recommend this hotel to anyone!! Worse hotel we stayed in.

Nice Place for Holiday
Located at Old Quarter, easy to find food, drink, walking distance to lake Hoen Kiem and near the weekend night market too. This hotel may be nice for tourist for holiday but may not so suitable for business as the room sound prove not that good, clubbing noise from next door until quite late as next to backpackers hotel and housekeeper talk loud as early at 6 am.

Great Location to experience the Old Quarter!
The hotel is in an amazing location, right in the heart of the old quarter which provided the perfect base for taking in this beautiful part of Hanoi. The staff were great and always helpful with keeping us updated on what was happening locally each night of the week. Only slight downside was our shower only had a shower curtain to separate it from the rest of the bathroom which meant the whole bathroom would get very wet when we showered. Other than that we couldn't fault our stay.

Comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Located right at the centre of old quarter. If u like loud and happening area, this is one of the hotel to stay. Especially during the weekends when theres night market nearby.

The staff were great, breakfast very good, room disappointing position for a reasonably long stay, and the bathroom had been allowed to deteriorate considerably since I stayed there just after it opened a few years ago. Shame as I won't return on my subsequent trips to Hanoi.

Met my expectations.
Staff were more than accommodating, The room was clean and tidy, The hot water worked. Not much more to say really. It was good value for the money.

Overall, we had a better experience at our previous hotel in Hanoi in just about every regard. The good: * location The bad: * service - requested car was not arranged on time * breakfast - most items overcooked. * the room - small, leaky shower. Door lock needed repairs. Safe didn't work. * the price - there's better in Hanoi at lower rates We booked a room for a night on our overnight stay after a trip to Ha Long bay. Our previous hotel had no vacancies. We walked in and the quoted rate was high, but we looked online and booked because of a discount. The shower was small and the door made it hard not to get the floor wet. After returning from dinner, the door lock had stopped working and we had to wait for repairs. We ended up using a mechanical key. The breakfast wasn't very good. Bacon and other cooked meats were chewy. After breakfast, we booked a car to take us to the airport. We came back to the counter at the specified time, but the car wasn't there. They had forgotten to call it in.

Very noise location; no window. Next to a Hostel. You could hear everything going on outside. They would open your door even if you hang the undisturbed sign on the door. If you locked from the inside, they would keep knocking.

We enjoyed our stay at the Medallion it was right in the middle of Hanoi old town,very busy but that's the charm of the place. Would recommend this hotel good value. The staff were very helpful they kept our luggage for two days whilst we went to Ha Long Bay for a trip
