We had a good room rate via expedia. The hotel is close enough to some tourist attractions (within walking distance) but yet quiet enough for a good rest at the end of a day. The staff were great n hotel was great to stay in. There is even a 15% on all food and beverages at the hotel restaurants for in house guests. Great initiative. :)
This was my second time at this hotel and it has pleased on both occasions. Location not great, but then I was only there 1 night on business. If you don't want to eat in the hotel restaurant, there aren't many options down the street; I ended up buying some snacky food at a convenience store about 5 mins walk away. The hotel itself is great, modern and well appointed. My only gripe - and I'm a little ashamed to call it a gripe - is that, in addition to the usual staff members who seem to think you are unable to get out of a taxi or handle a small suitcase without assistance, this place even has a smartly-dressed female who's job seems to be to make sure you can find your way from the entrance to the reception desk a few metres away, and then to show you to the also-not-difficult-to-find lift. I'm just sensitive about being treated like an imbecile; on the other hand it's nice to have somebody smiling a big welcome as you arrive.
When first arrived in Hanoi was worried what motel would be like but could not fault it and loved the lounge access pool and gym was great. Best hotel I have stayed at in Asia over last month traveling including Phillipines Singapore etc

We had a wonderful experience staying in the Melia Hanoi in May 2013. The service couldn't be faulted. A member of staff was on hand as soon as we arrived at the hotel in our taxi to ensure we weren't being over charged by the driver.
- Great food in the restaurant
- WiFi available for free in the lobby
- Close enough to the lake and other sites
It was a quick stay. Checking in and out was a breeze. Room was clean and the breakfast was pretty good. No complaints.
The location was a bit off from many of the main attractions. Nice if you are looking for something more secluded.
