awful construction makes this hotel unbearable
Awful experience at this hotel. There is extremely loud construction going on next door (to the point of the walls shaking). And this is until 1am, the manager told us after we complained late at night. The facilities are run down and honestly not worth the money.

Staff of this hotel very nice. Room & Bed very comfortable. Location is great. Many hidden nice foods around the hotel. About 25mins walking distance to old town. Breakfast is nice but not in buffet style. Overall great stay.

Low cost hotel in Old Quarter. The location is OK - about ten minutes walk from Hon Keim lake. Issues on arrival with the safe and TV in my room. Eventually sorted the safe issue after about five attempts (safe was a very old version and staff seemed unsure). The TV wasn’t working at all - eventually fixed late on second day. The main thing here was the lack of any real interest to resolve the issue. Area around hotel isn’t great - although there. Are shops worth visiting down several of the side streets. Couple of convenience stores within about 5-10 minutes. Hotel room was clean and large by normal standards in Asia. My bed was two singles pushed together with a sheet over them. Bathroom water pressure wasn’t great - but just about sufficient for shower etc. Breakfast room staff were really helpful and friendly. Cassie on reception was also really helpful. Breakfast itself (free) was pretty basic but in line with other hotels I’ve stayed at in Vietnam. Fruit, cereal and eggs to order. Also have juices (can be freshly squeezed), tea and coffee. There are also Vietnamese options.

Not fancy but quite adequate.
My room, one of three on the 4th floor, was windowless but newly decorated and cheerful. The hotel is a 20 minute walk to Hoan Khiem lakefront. Very nice staff. A modest breakfast was included in my tariff.

Calypso, get amongst it !!!!
Calypsos, absolutely everything about this place ticked my boxes.Besutifully clean, spacious rooms. Whilst not new or modern , nicely effectively decorated. Breakfast was a delight to wake up to and several choices in the family friendly dining room. Walking distance to busy shops and a number of tour sites.Tours. Taxis all could be arranged by the more than efficient staff. Host Li. And his staff gave me a beautiful warm welcome and introduction to the amenities. This continued through to Tours and helpful directions day or night. Loved my stay here. Jenny Australia.

The staff in this hotel are the nicest in all of the hotels we visited in Vietnam, they really do go out if their way to help & are always happy to advise and give you tips, book trips etc. We stayed here on 2 occasions & would definitely return.

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times. The hotel is well managed with friendly and helpful staff. The new manager, Mr. Lee, is great! I got great recommendations for restaurants, tailors, day trips, etc. It's an easy walk to the lake and most attractions in the city center.

You can taste Vietnamese hospitality in this tiny
Calypso premier Hotel has 7 floors, 3 rooms on each floor. Therefore, the manager and the staff memorize the guests.I stayed there for the second time since August, but they greeted me very warmly. When I asked for airport pick-up service I got a confirmation email back. The driver could not speak English, but he really corresponded pleasantly and did not make me feel uneasy. The room I stayed at this time was one at the top floor. That day, I was working from 4 o'clock and I wanted to sleep a bit after checking in. The furniture in the room is classic and stylish. The picture of the street corner of Hanoi considered to be the 1950s put on the wall makes history feel. It was a very calm room. The hotel is in the center of Hanoi, but it was a quiet room where no noise of the car can be heard. The train whistle that can be heard from time to time sometimes makes me feel comfortable sleeping. When I woke up, it was before 6 pm, and when I opened the curtain, the sight of the beautiful sunset expanded. The white walls of the small houses in Hanoi and the blue edged windows, the roof of green and orange and the big trees surrounding them. And a pink sky. It seemed to be one of paintings. And that night was a full moon. I enjoyed the beautiful night view of Hanoi from the window of my room. Next morning when I asked for an omelet at the hotel restaurant, it was written as "enjoy" in ketchup. Moreover, the prices of items of some menu items are included in the price of breakfast.

Hotel with a heart!
Calypso is the hotel with a heart. While it was a little older that staff and the attention to the patrons was amazing. Linda the manager reached out to me when I booked and asked if I was intererested in any tours and she organized them all ...door to door...I can't thank her enough for attention to detail. Definitely a place I would return back to!

No surprises, comfortable 1 night stay
Needed a place to stay before going to Halong Bay in the morning. The front desk was very gracious even though we woke them up at 2am after our incoming flight was delayed. Room was quiet, comfortable, had a good shower. The coffee sucks but otherwise breakfast was tasty - they have omelets. Exactly what we expected and I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel staffs are friendly, helpful and speak fluent English especially Cindy. Johnny is a helpful & polite gentleman with great smiles. Manager Linda assisted to arrange Halong Bay cruise, night train to Sapa and limousine mini bus back from Sapa to Hanoi as well as airport transfer for us without hiccups. The hotel room is comfortable & clean. In conclusion, We have a good stay here on 19 June 2018.

Enjoy the experience of Hanio.
Hanoi is a very diverse city and we stayed in the old town, managing to walk around was confusing at first and managing to cross a road ( as the traffic to not stop). But the hotel gave us a few hints on how planning our route around the city. The staff made this hotel very enjoyable, as they were exceptionally warm and friendly to all the guests.

We loved our stay at the Calypso! Linda made us feel very welcome and so did all the other staff. Room was very comfortable for a family of three with plenty of room for the luggage, a table for coffe and tea. Having fresh bottles of sealed complimentary water was a plus. Lounges in the reception area could maybe do with a replacing. For the price, fantastic hotel and great location. Breakfast was very good with different fresh fruit every morning, a selection of croissants and pain of chocolat, good coffee and also a menu to order whatever your heart wanted!

Amazing!!! Stop looking and book this Hotel!
This hotel is in a perfect location. The room is very clean, comfortable with few extra nice touches (tea, minibar, toiletries, water, personal PC with WiFi in your room!). The breakfast is fabulous and the serving staff is exceptional. They will make anything your heart desires. The reception staff is amazing and Linda the manager knows what she is doing when operating a hotel. Johnny was great at check in and booked all of our tours and recommended the places where to eat. We were never disappointed during our stay.

Room was spacious and comfortable. Family suite bathroom comes with bathtub. Staff was friendly and speaks English well with good recommendation for eating places. Breakfast was great too. Only complain is on 1st day we arrive at 8pm plus the rooms was not ready as they doing some maintenance. Room was only ready almost 10pm when we come back from dinner.

Everything about my stay here was personal. Even the car which came to collect me from the airport had a fan with my name on it! Staff treat you like a family or friend and go out of their way to help. Special thanks to Linda, Linh, Irene and others whose names I can't recall. Nothing was too much trouble to the staff at Calypso, who really understand how to provide superior customer service. Thanks for a pleasant stay.

Lovely hotel in Hanoi,Vietnam.Although hotel was not an oversized hotel which was what I wanted .There were quite a few rooms in hotel which were very large and luxurios.Breakfast was nice and lastly all the staff and manageress were really nice friendly and helpful.They would do anything for you .If your in Hanoi I would definetly recommend this family run hotel to anyone.I give it 5 stars.☺
