“Great location but hotel needs a renovation”
OK for a business stay but wouldn't recommend for a holiday. Requested a non-smoking room but was initially assigned a smoking room, staff were pleasant and changed the room when I requested it. Hotel itself is in a good location and the ground floor bar and dining rooms are of a good standard. The rooms are spacious but the decor is tired and old fashioned. No air-conditioning in the room but radiators were adjustable. Breakfast was buffet style and was the best bit of the stay - lots of choice and well presented.
“Good hotel in Hannover's downtown”
The Grand Maritime is a good hotel. I stayed there for business for over one week. Don't be fooled by its ugly exterior since the rooms are quite nice. I got a room in an upper floor facing the Rathaus building (the City Hall) and the nearby Marchsee lake and park. There was no air conditioning in the room but for mid May opening the window was good enough. My only complain would be that the desk was too small for my computer and my notes and that there were not enough power outlets available near the desk (just one). The bathroom was functional and nice, breakfast was plentiful as it is usually in Germany but quite expensive. The hotel is located about half a mile from the Marchsee where you can go jogging or walking. It is also close to the soccer stadium and to the largest public swimming pool in the city. Also it is in downtown so there were plenty of restaurants, beer gardens, an organic supermarket, and the central market. It is good option for the price and I will probably use it next time I am back to Hannover.
“Expensive”
Very expensive for the value you receive.They could at least have A/C and an iron +ironing board in the room. Have stayed there before during Ligna Show but I think this was the last time

Zimmereinrichtung war extrem abgewohnt, Teppiche und Tapeten verschlissen. In keiner Weise einem Garnd-Hotel angemessen.

Maritim Grand Hotel in Hannover hört sich grandioser an, als es ist. Ein Riesenkasten aus den 70er Jahren, an dem an einigen Stellen schon die Fassade bröckelt. Das Parkhaus im Keller ist düster und dreckig (wird zurzeit aber gerade renoviert). Innen ist alles okay und sauber, aber modern ist was anderes (Textiltapeten sind nicht meine Welt, ich denke immer, da grinsen einen die Milben an). Lage ist super, nur 150 (oder so) Meter in die City, aber bei offenem Fenster ist es nachts auch laut, weil die Pattyrückkehrer singen und lärmen, zumindest am Wochenende war das so. Der sehr schöne Maschpark und das eindrucksvolle Rathaus sind direkt gegenüber. Frühstück kostet extra und war uns zu teuer. Beim Italiener in der nahen Markthalle gibt es leckeres Frühstück. Die Beschäftigten des Hotelswaren durch die Bank sehr freundlich. Das Kosten-Nutzen-Verhältnis über alles: ein bisschen zu teuer.
