Stay was ok the price paid was ok. But very disappointed that the rooms were not serviced after first night and received no clean towels and as we were not aware that the rooms did not get serviced we had to use wet towels the next morning. NOT GOOD

Due to certain circumstances outside of my control, I had to stay at Britannia Hotel for about a month. The staff was absolutely amazing and there was never a day that went by where I was not only greeted by my first name, but always with a smile on their faces and a “how are you doing today?”. If it wasn’t for their amazing professionalism, helpfulness, and kind actions, I honestly don’t think I would have made it. I pray that management sees this review because YOUR STAFF DESERVES A HUGE RAISE!

Think twice before you book
I arrived at the hotel only to be told that the resident was closed and the bar but this was not mentioned in the web site , I had booked an executive room and the tub chair that was all to sit on was broken the arm was broken , I tried to clean my teeth to find that the cold water tap on the sink did not work no water came from it so had to get it from the bath tap . Upon arrival I was told I was on the 5th floor which was fine once I got to the floor I noticed stickers on all the door locks saying room cleaned which in its self is excellent but the fact it looked like I was the only guest on that floor found it strange that there was a dirty plate in the hall way floor and all the rooms around it had the stickers over the locks ?

Original room was disappointing, however the hotel reception male was first class and upgraded ne too another roon which had been redecorated. There was wires and sealant splashes as evidence the room had been decorated. The carpet was brand new un this room and nade the first rooms carpet look stupid. No hot water for a few days, thank god it was a heatwave and i only wanted a cold shower? Brand new shower and bath and toilet. Hey over all though pleasant and peaceful and had a chilling great werkend. I was informed the hotel was under reconstruction whilst i was at the hotel. So better to comd i think. May have the bar and restaurant opened. But how long til this gets completed as I never saw any builders or decorators...

I would suggest the receptionist to be a little more friendly perhaps. Also, they need to fix the lights in the room, our light after switching off, a green light would remain on, when I asked one of the workers he said that most of the rooms are like that. Also you can hear the noise of the corridors and doors

Ok, accommodation, the room was a bit dusty, and facilities/ decor can do with an upgrade. Ensuite has wear and tear (marks you can't clean off, toilet seat wobbly) rooms don't have airconditioning and can be a bit humid on a hot day. Other then that it's OK for the price per room per night.

The room and carpets were dirty. The room and the communal areas didn't look anything like they appear on the photos. It was so dirty that I had to leave soon after I checked in.

Really disapointing.
Check in was so very slow, took around 20 mins for 2 of us, it was a dark and dated reception area not very inviting at all. Eventually we were led through the dining room which was full of people having covid vaccinations through to our grubby and dated rooms. Unfortunately mine smelled terrible, I had to open the window full despite it being cold and no controls on the radiator to switch it on, I also used a can of deodorant on the carpet to freshen it up a bit. After the time spent in reception booking in, I didn't want to even try to change rooms, the bedding looked clean so for one night I put up with it. The pictures on the website look fantastic, don't be fooled as I was.

The bathroom looked clean but their was stains on the carpet and looked a bit unclean in and around the bed . Parking was Inaccessible also too , but staff was polite and friendly. I just feel I paid more than the room was worth .

We actually refused to stay in the first rooms we were allocated as the smell of stale smoke was disgusting. We were allocated different rooms and these were a great improvment, however the cleanliness of the room was poor. The bathroom didn't look like it had been cleaned and mould was apparent everywhere.

I was disappointed because they have a bath which they advertise but no plugs and the shower, well you have to be 4 foot tall to fit underneath it! I was in room 208 maybe other rooms are different

From the moment I checked in disaster... had to change room 3 times ... first was wrong booking had 2 beds I asked only for a double? Second... had a family already in ? The 3rd was simply ok ... average beyond words ... breakfast could not eat .. must of been warmed up left overs from day before... coffee tea in drink able ... I want a refund on the breakfast ... left at 8am to find a coffee somewhere else never again ... O stars

Bad, only thing good about it was the low cost, if I had paid more I would have been complaining. Check in took a long time, even though I was second in the queue the receptionist was new, the processes seemed complicated and no one was helping her. She was nice enough however. The hotel was dated and the room was tiny, dusty and run down.

I walked out immediately - room wasn't ready when I got there evening time and needed to change and shower immediately. Bed not changed, old ware and wine glass, grubby bathroom. Had to walk past toilets to access room - you could smell that they are leaky from outside in the hallway.

Cheap.... but not cheerful.
Great location, reasonably clean and well heated. That's it. Pay more and stay somewhere else. Totally abysmal. I can't complain as I got what I paid for.

Do not stay here. Property looks cute on the outside and in a great neighborhood, but is extremely run down. Staff is unresponsive. For example, I reported that the toilet was not flushing. The request to fix it was ignored. After some practice, I figured out that the toilet would flush if I primed it with 3 little pushes of the handle followed by a fourth sustained handle push. Insane that in the most important city in the world, this could not have been handled appropriately. Bed as hard as a rock. Pillows paper thin. No heating controls in the room - the staff turns on the boiler and you just have to try your best to equalize it out by opening the window. So, half the room freezing and half the room painful warm. Avoid.

I arrived latest night and my room still hadn't been cleaned but the Reception staff were not aware. I was given another room, only to have the same problem. The Housekeeping Staff hadn't cleaned. The third room I was given was clean only because one of the Recpetion Staff went round the hotel to find a clean room. It wasn't good enough. ,y 3rd room was cleaner, but mouldy in the bathroom, curtain hanging off and dirty cups on the tray was just not good enough. And it cost me £79 for the pleasure! I feel for the Reception Staff, at least they tried. Britannia, SORT OUT YOUR PROPERTIES. This was my last stay with a Britannia.
