Don't pay extra for a garden view

Posted 22-Jul-2015
Cons: The hotel is tired and needs updating, everything just about worked but not as well as you would expect. The garden is not well kept
Location: A short walk into the very nice resort of Milford on Sea
The staff were very nice except for one strange receptionist. We felt they were trying hard under difficult circumstances

Rural location

Posted 14-Jul-2015
Pros: The rural aspect
Cons: Decor is a little jaded and wants a total overhaul.
Location: Nothing to do within walking distance, but Lymington Christchurch and Bournemouth all within easy reach by car
Quaint hotel but a little jaded but we found all the staff to be excellent.

Pleasent quiet hotel. Shame about the bathroom.

Posted 12-Jul-2015
Pros: Nice and relaxing with pleasent and mostly experienced staff. Good size accomodation and lounge. Food was excellent thogh smallish menu.
Cons: Our bathroom was in desparate need of refurbishment and really not acceptable, facilities were worn and old with cracked basins and missing groutting.
Location: Excellent location for exploring the region though it helps to have a car. The area is paked with things to do to suit all tastes.
Had a very pleasent stay anf looked after well. Enjoyed the food. Shame about the bathroom.

A great place for a weekend break

Posted 09-Jun-2015
Pros: The Hotel is situated between the coast and the New Forest making it a very good base for seeing the surrounding areas.
Cons: Hotel is a bit tired but very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful
Location: We went to the beach at Milford which is stony and the beach at Highcliffe which is sandy also visited Beaulieu and Exbury Gardens and the New Forest
We booked this Hotel for a weekend break and were very pleased we did the breakfast was freshly cooked and served piping hot. We also had an evening meal on two nights and again this was very good

Nice hotel, convenient location

Posted 25-Apr-2015
Pros: The location mainly. It was very quiet and the staff friendly. Our room was very large.
Cons: Decor was a bit tired but clean. Our shower was hot but the spray was not brilliant!
Location: Tennis, beach, good pubs and restaurants, quaint villages to explore and the New Forest!
Stayed here for 2 nights while playing a tennis tournament at Milford. Also visited Brockenhurst and the rest of the New Forest.

Like a comfortable pair of old slippers

Posted 20-Apr-2015
Pros: the comfortable atmosphere
Cons: The bar closing at 10pm. Although we aren't in our first flush of youth we aren't ready for Horlicks at 10pm.!!
Location: We only stayed one night but did walk down to the village, which had a general shop and a pub.
Whilst we had a pleasant one night stay, the hotel is beginning to show signs of wear and tear. Stains on wall paper, carpets frayed etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant and though it was very nice it was over priced.
