Nice hotel

Posted 01-Dec-2014
Pros: Good breakfast and nice and quiet room.
Cons: A update on the decor - bedding, curtains etc would really help give the hotel a lift.
Location: Location was good - only a short drive to Lymington and not far from the coast and the lovely Hurst Castle.
The hotel was nice and served its purpose for us just wanting a pleasant room for a night. It was slightly dated in style but more or less how we expected given other reviews and we didn't have any real complaints. It was good value for money and the breakfast was generous in its offering.

friendly, welcoming hotel

Posted 02-Sep-2014
Pros: nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
Cons: decor is a little outdated
Location: near sea
Lovely stay, a change of plan meant hubby and dog joined me unexpectedly for final night. Hotel staff were extremely helpful and went over and above what I would or could have hoped for. I will definitely be returning.

Short but sweet

Just a one night stay in quite a large comfortable room. Twin beds very comfortable. Bathroom needed TLC. Breakfast very nice with attentive waitresses.

Comfortable stay

Posted 25-Aug-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: We've had bigger breakfasts, half a small slice of black pudding is a bit extreme! Would be worth improving Wifi throughout.
Location: Good access to the coast from Lymington to Bournemouth. Good choices for food in Milford.
Quite a small hotel with comfortable facilities if a slightly dated feel although that was not really a problem. Dog friendly. Although the room information said that Wifi was not available, the room we had (no 2) was close enough to the router to be able to pick up and others on that side of the hotel might be able to as well.

Good short break

Posted 01-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
Had 2 night break here when the weather was hot and sunny. Room comfortable and clean but warm although small fan was provided.Good breakfast and friendly staff. Hotel decor dated in public areas and lots of ground to have a pool!

Tired hotel as were the staff, no fresh fruit for breakfast, soft old beds - desperate for a make over!

Quiet and Comfortable Hotel in ideal Location

Posted 29-Jun-2014 on Hotels.com
We had a stop-over at the South Lawn while visiting friends who were vacationing nearby. Excellent night's sleep, comfortable beds, no noise, very clean. Other reviews are right that the decor is dated and the exterior needs a coat of paint but who cares? It was just the job for us.

Good budget hotel

Posted 25-Jun-2014
Pros: Staff in particular were very good.
Modest price matched by modest facilities. Room was clean. Choice of ensuite or shared facilities. Breakfast minimal continental, just croissants, yoghurt and fruit. Staff very freindly and good Thai food is available from the bar.
