“Excellent short stay hotel”
The hotel is welcoming clean amd friendly, perfect for short stays, the rooms are what you expect, no frills but very clean and comfortable.
“What you would expect from an Ibis”
What you would expect from an Ibis hotel - clean, functional, adequate, serves its purpose. The staff were very helpful. The bathroom was very small.
“Convenient for ferry and shops”
Bright, airy room. Secure car parking a bonus. 15 minutes walk to shops by Spinnaker Tower, close to ferries and at an excellent price. Would definitely stay there again.
“Portsmouth - July 2011”
The hotel provided what we needed - suitable accommodation for a simple overnight stay before catching an early morning ferry to France from the nearby terminal. The only downsides were the seriously excessive noise caused by groups of other rowdy visitors arguing and shouting in the corridor at 1:00 am and then again at 3:00 am, plus the fact that we could not park in the hotel car park but had to use the open car park at the adjacent University site.
“"Not Not Impressed"”
I do not recomened this Hotel, I have stayed in Ibis elseware but by far this was the worst, my room was filthy the bed sheets must have been there from the previous guest as we found stains and hairs in it, we had a look under the bed and also found empty bottles, the list goes on. We made a complaint to the receiption and all we were quoted was sorry theres nothing they could do as the hotel was fully booked and could not move us to another room or change the sheets as the staff had gone home. If you dont mind all this and you are one of these people who just needs a place to sleep after a good night out on the lash then this is the hotel for you as you would be that drunk you just would'nt care, But if you what something a bit more find somewere else as you will be dissapointed.
“Only if its cheap”
Located for easy walking access to all of Portsmouth/Southsea. A 5 min walk to Gunwharf for shopping. Check in was efficient and courteous. If anyone has stayed at Ibis before it is a good example of one. Be aware if you have not this is a economy chain. The rooms are spartan, small, not very well equipped and the beds are hard but if you can get a good online price then it is worth it. This site has a good secure car park for a small £2 a night charge. A nice bar a dining room for breakfast (we did not have breakfast on site as there are a number of coffee shops and a Wetherspoons very close that does much better and cheaper meals than any hotel). Overall it was a bargain price so it was ideal for a couple of days, otherwise for a pleasure trip I would pay more for a little more comfort.
“Good location”
We picked this hotel on short notice for an overnight stop enroute to Isle of Wight. During booking in it was pointed out the lifts werent working due to someone getting trapped in a lift, as we're on the 4th floor with heavy suitcases we arrived at the room breathing heavy as they never offered to help with the luggage( would have been a nice touch). The room was clean enough, and the power shower was excellent. One of the reasons we picked this hotel was its location, and across the road was the busy pubs and clubs, so naturaly we had a few drinks for the first night of our holiday.
“Not impressed”
Arrival was fine, room as clean, hotel well situated. Was a twin room and the beds were like planks of wood. That linked to the ongoing noise from the corridor made it a very poor night indeed. I will be avoiding Ibis from now on.
“Cramped room and car park full”
A good welcome from the staff but they couldn't find me a space in their secure car park. The room was quite cramped for the two of us, especially the bathroom. Bed was a bit firm but warm. Decided against breakfast buffet. Hotel well placed in central Portsmouth and handy for a night before catching the ferry. Efficient check out.
“gut und günstig”
Die Zimmer im Ibis Portsmouth sind recht klein gehalten. Jedoch ist es überall sehr sauber und bietet alles was man braucht. Wirklich empfehlenswert!
