It was good

Lovely place if u stay in the main house. We stayed in the outer houses not as good. Bar and food very over priced. But lovely little pub down the road.

Poor standard for the price.

The hotel was average with blocks of rooms in the grounds of the manor house. The gym and health club were tired. Restaurant host also began serving eggs at the breakfast counter with long hair dangling close to the food. For 120 pounds, the overall standard was poor. Wouldn't use the hotel again. It felt like centre parks!!!

Beautiful hotel and grounds

Posted 31-May-2014
Pros: Breakfast in the main house was a lovely treat. Everything was very pleasing.
Cons: For the lights to be turned off in the hallway at night. Had to use a towel to block it from under the door way
Location: This wasn't relevant for my stay
Fantastic on Line offer found for last min. work reschedule. Beautiful hotel and grounds. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I used the swimming pool and Sauna. Very clean. Stayed in a single room, it was small/cosy, but had everything I needed for a comfy sleep.

Did not make it as missed the ferry from France ,

Posted 29-May-2014
Cons: They could charge a small administration fee in such circumstances
Sadly they charged a lot of money for nothing as we missed the ferry from France after a very stressful experience , we telephoned them as soon as we missed the ferry , five or more hours before we should have arrived , so they got a lot of money from us for absolutely nothing !!! . I know there are rules regarding cancellations but think the cost was very harsh , we had to then pay for alternative accommodation !!

De vere at its best.

Posted 20-May-2014
Pros: Very well situated, breakfast was superb, and the bar meals were excellent, and very reasonable.
Cons: The hotel is having some restoration done, but we were not inconvenienced, and the grounds, and gardens were lovely.
Location: Did not venture out as we were going to Southampton the next day to join our cruise. We did notice a nice country pub along the lane.
Stayed here overnight. Rooms excellent clean, and well furnished, including a safe for your valuables. Plus free parking just outside your room.

This hotel is home from home for me

Posted 19-May-2014
Pros: breakfast and the grounds
Cons: The rooms are getting a bit tired, and do need renovating, and the TV and remote did not work well
Location: there is a very good Indian restaurant in Botley
My stay was as good as always. Very relaxing, and still have one of the best breakfast buffets in the world for the price. The leisure facilities are very good, but I would warn you that in late afternoon there may be far too many children in the pool.

Nice hotel, good facilities, quiet location

Posted 20-Apr-2014
The double rooms were in bungalow style chalet blocks, separate from the main manor house and leisure facilities. There was a wedding going on in the manor house but the rooms were far enough away not to hear. A good hotel.

Great hotel suitable for all

Posted 06-Apr-2014
It was a very nice stay the receptioniest were very knowledgeable and helpful. The hotel has so much to offer. Suitable for families, romantic getaways etc... Ordered room service at 9.30pm which came in good time. The only issue was they got the order incorrect twice (but then again everyone makes mistakes). Location is nice and peaceful. When entering the hotel room itself it had the wow factor. Really clean and tidy. Check out was very quick and easy too. I would recommend this hotel.

Good choice for one night......

Posted 05-Apr-2014
Pros: Free Wifi, Free lesiure facilities
Cons: carpets were looking a bit old in my building
Location: half hour drive to southampton
Good choice for one night at the price i paid, Hotel is still quite a drive from Southampton centre. My room was quiet but it was a weekend so the place wasnt too busy. Pool, Jacuzzi and sauna were small but empty. Free WiFi is always welcome and allowed the use of Netflix (which many block). Breakfast was good if a little expensive at £9

Fantastic place to stay

Had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The combination of the main house restaurant, bar and lounge with rooms in the adjacent block is great. Bar food was lovely and the breakfast was amazing ..... Thanks for a great stay !!!
