Great looking from the Outside

Posted 30-Jan-2015
Pros: The grounds
Cons: see comments above
On the inside however, rooms were poor, so small that almost no room to turn around. Noise coming through the wallsl and ceilings from every angle interrupted sleep and bathroom was like a corridor. Staff were friendly but untrained and service was lamentable.

Good for the money

Posted 30-Nov-2014
Pros: the location and the value
Cons: the bathroom could have been better, grouting a little dirty and missing in places
I needed a hotel to stay in after an evening function

Worst night's sleep I have ever had!

Posted 31-Oct-2014 on Hotels.com
The room I was put in had no windows that would open. The heating which was very loud went off at 10-30pm and came on at 4-30am. The room temperature was running at over 90 degrees and there was no way you could sleep with bedclothes over you. The bathroom door was around 4ft 6" and in the night I banged my head. There was a walk in wardrobe with 1 coat hanger. For a de Vere hotel it was very bad. The signage to the hotel is inadequate in the dark.

Great food really small room but perfect

Posted 25-Oct-2014
We stayed at the hotel over night just as a stop over We arrived at 9pm too late for dinner but bar food was available I ordered the burger and mum ordered the chicken Both came to the room piping hot Very well packaged and perfectly cooked Was really pleased Stuffed my self silly! Chips were awesome Breakfast was loads good choice and tasted fab Hotel room was tiny I think the bathroom was bigger than the room The bed was up against the wall so it was reallllly small Receptionist said this was called cosy We were in the main house in ro number 3 So avoid this room if you would like some space! Other than that Everything else was fine

Not quite what i'd expect from a De vere hotel....

Posted 25-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com
positives - quick check in despite being busy, restaurant manager was excellent and food to match. negatives - signage to fir tree was very poor - a long way back in dark and rain. room was very small, no phone signal or internet. room very dated no hot water on arrival. Disappointed to be charged 2.5% to pay for dinner on credit card, and even more shocked that breakfast went up by £2.50 if you didn't book on arrival. Truly a beautiful location - quite a long way to go to make it perfect

Great hotel but hard to find

Posted 06-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com
I stayed in three De Vere hotels over the summer and this was by far the best in terms of decor, cleanliness and customer service. My room was in fir tree court away from the main house. Plenty of parking. Room was very pleasant and comfortable. Hotel is a bit out in the wilds and initially difficult to find, but I would definitely stay again.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting

Posted 04-Sep-2014
Pros: The setting was gorgeous and the staff were great. I ate from the bar menu but the food was very nice
Cons: Not that it could be improved, but my only gripe were the low door frames and beams. I felt as if I was constantly stooping
I travel a lot with work and this is one of the nicer hotels that I've stayed in. Set in lovely countryside with huge amounts of parking, this is somewhere to stay for business or as part of a break with your other half
