The room was not clean there were big cobwebs hanging from the ceiling onto curtains, the shower wasn’t clean, the grouting was dirty, the bin in bathroom was rusty, sink coming away from wall, tap was ready to come away from basin and where the tea & coffee were the wood effect covering was coming away from the table

Very difficult to get to the hotel. Our room was dirty when we arrived, with spilt beer left on the bedside table, the floor hadn’t been hoovered and there was no shampoo/body wash left. Very disappointed. When leaving we wanted to speak to someone but there was no one at reception and we needed to leave. Other customers leaving at the same time has the same issue and said they would share concerns with the staff

Lovely service from reception. We had one issue which was solved successfully. The only problem is there is nothing much on the services itself and a complicated journey on the M3 to reach any restaurants. Overall a nice quiet break

Good stay and good, clean and comfortable base. One problem is the lack of a service road to the northbound carriageway of the M3 meaning a journey back from winchester involves an additional round trip of 20miles up and down the motorway

Good for the money, but not clean...
Generally speaking, the room was good for the price, but was seriously let down by not being properly cleaned. There were lots of bits on the floor that would have been cleaned if a vacuum cleaner had been used and the one side of the bed base was covered in some dirt that could have been cleaned. The surfaces of the desks and bedside tables hadn't been cleaned. There were cup marks on the main desk and the bedside unit had something sticky on it which I had to clean so I could put my belongings on it. (See pics. - I didn't take photos of the floor because it didn't show up in the image because of the carpet design, and I cleaned the bedside table before I realised all the other things). It really did look like the bedding had been changed - at least I hope it was - and the bathroom washed down but that's all. Still, apart from the cleanliness, it was worth the money. At this price, I don't expect a lot more than a bed for the night, but I do expect it to be clean.

I have never stayed in a dirtier hotel. There were inches of dust around all the beds. The beds were uncomfortable and there was only decaf coffee sachets. I slept under a towel as didn’t feel comfortable getting in the bed. All in all a horrible night that I won’t be repeating.

I was picking some friends up from Southampton cruise terminal and did not want to start my journey at 1am so choose a hotel to stay in near to Southampton. I paid £40 for the night. I wanted a bed, in a clean room with a TV. That's what I got. In fact, the room was very clean. Nice clean towels for use after my shower. Lets face it, after spending £41 for a night in a hotel, I was not expecting the ritz. What I got was very good value for money. I have paid a lot more and stayed in a lot worse. Young lady who checked me in was very polite and friendly. I would stay here again if I found myself in the area.

No answer from reception when I tried to call lots of times. Website leads you to believe that Winchester City Centre is just 10mins away but reality is a £45 taxi journey each way to Winchester because the hotel is on the wrong side of the M3 so very unhappy about that 😞

You can only access this property from one direction on the M3 -- this is not mentioned anywhere . The door had two voids in it and the door needs attention re security . You can clearly hear any noise in the hallway . The convenience is that it is located in a motorway services station .

The hotel was incredibly dirty. -Mould covered the shower floor. -Crusted coffee stains in the mugs. -A used towel from the previous occupants hanging on the back of the bathroom door. -Picture frames missing from the walls. -The walls behind the beds was covered in dirty smudges which looked horribly like sweat..I had to pull the bed away from the walls to sleep in the middle of the room to avoid them and finally, -There was a dirty bedsheet underneath the bedsheet I was sleeping on. Overall experience was terrible. If I could give a 0/10 I would! I would never stay at this hotel, or possibly another Days Inn hotel again. And it wasn’t that cheap… £121… it should have been (with all the issues mentioned) less then £30

M3 closed for overnight work. This was not communicated to anyone staying at the hotel - 3 families were left without instructions advising on how to get to the hotel. We were all left driving around diversions surrounding the location until 12 p.m.! Finally, I got through to someone at the hotel, but they still did not give clear instructions for the resolution. Finally arrived in the small hours to a noisy room with dirty bed linen and shower facilities. No sleep was had by my group. We will not use or recommend this hotel again.

Worst place I’ve ever stayed!
AVOID,AVOID,AVOID. I have been lucky to travel the world, this hotel has the pleasure of being the second worst place I have ever stayed, the first being close to the Gaza Strip in Beirut in the mid 90’s. What a nightmare place this is. I actually considered going to sleep in my car as it was considerable cleaner, more comfortable and has fewer pubic hairs spread about it. The awful cleanliness of my room was an added bonus after scheduled closure on the M3 (not the hotels fault) meant there was no access to the hotel at all without doing a 40 mile round trip and then having to negotiate with road workers who insisted they hadn’t been informed by the hotel of my arrival. When I contacted the hotel desperately trying to get to it at 01:30 after an hour attempting to somehow get in, I was happily informed “ yeah we knew how hard it would be to get here but if you JUST go back 3 junctions on the motorway and speak nicely to the workmen they MIGHT let you through!!! Actually writing this has made me realise it’s the worst place I’ve ever stayed!! It doesn’t even have the reason of being in a war torn region of the world! It’s near Winchester!!!

The shower in our room (room 22) was jammed on a 'luke warm' setting. A previous occupant had clearly smoked in the bathroom - not your fault though!
