Decent building, service okay, but noisy location
The hotel itself isn’t bad; no breakfast, lobby is closed due to Covid. But the room was clean, and facilities adequate for my one-night stay in the middle of the week as I traveled to a funeral. It is, however, next to a truck stop and across the street from another. I drove a truck for 9 years and am not one to really complain about noise as a result. I slept okay except the once or twice when a truck horn blew in the parking lot (drivers are out 24 hours a day, and they’ll give the horn a quick tug if somebody trying to back into the last empty parking spot in the dark at the end of a 14-hour day is looking like they’re about to hit their truck). But if you have a low tolerance for noise, this is not the place for you. If you can deal with noise and are on a budget, though, this might be just the ticket.

Very nice!! An older property, but the care spent on cleanliness and upkeep really shows and was very much appreciated. Very large rooms in a safe area close to the interstate made for a very comfortable night's sleep. Some food choices close by. And the staff was very friendly. Great choice!!

The stay was pretty good. Staff was friendly and the room was very clean. It was very affordable to stay at this hotel too. The only problem I encountered is that this hotel is located next door to a busy truck stop. So light sleepers beware.

Pretty secluded considering it’s tucked away in a corner behind a gas station and another building. Overall was wonderful, right in the middle of everywhere I needed to be. Very friendly staff. Only complaint was both staircases leading upstairs where being painted as we where visiting. Other than that 10/10!

It was an okay Motel. For the area I think it should have been a little cheaper. There was another Motel that advertised a cheaper price but was about $20 cheaper but it didn't have any available rooms. Also I don't know if it was the room I had but as soon as the AC would stop the room would become really hot.

Good. COVID guidelines were mostly adhered to, but would have loved for the staff to wear a mask, even though they were behind plexiglass (even if it just helps with optics). No enforcement of masks on other guests, which was disappointing but understandable. Hotel itself might look a little worse for the wear on the outside, but the rooms were clean and nice.

Well the Colonial Inn I must say is better than the Super 8 motel at state in the night before even though the Colonial and had stains on the couches exhaust fan sounded like it was an airplane about ready to take off and the second light switch and the bathroom went no wheres. This particular location is right across from the Pilot truck stop so I can hear trucks coming and going all night. I'm over all satisfied with my experience except for the couple minor things. I would stay here again if I come back to the area again

Yes, it is clean and quiet.
The hotel owners are great. The rooms are clean - I am allergic and found the deodorant spray the housecleaner used too much for me. It was high pollen during my stay and I found I had a hard time breathing. Possibly the reason could be the hotel faces a truck fill up across the small road and there must have been ten disel lines - i would not have booked if i had known this for my health. Otherwise the motel/hotel was ok and actually quiet if you dont have respiratory problems.

A Hidden Gem
My son and I had been on a week long trip to take care of my father’s affairs after his passing the week before. and we found this little gem. Being smokers we were astounded to find a smoking room and when we walked into our room we both immediately smiled, these types of rooms are usually the worst on comfort. The beds were soft, the sheets felt and smelled like home, and the room was impeccably clean. Also, the staff was friendly and efficient. After leaving we received a call saying we’d left a set of keys, she’d agreed to send them to us in Houston, and even insisted on no reimbursement. When does that happen anymore? I’d just like to thank The Colonial for the experience and highly recommend this hotel to others. This weary traveler sure appreciates your efforts.
