“superb location, perfect front desk, lack in cleanness”

The location is immaculate, walking distance to the main tourist sites and shopping. Super helpful frontdesk, concierge, etc. nice restaurant with unspectacular menu despite very good quality. Small but very well equipped gym with a nice view over the city. Only shocker is the houskeeping. I hate to find hair and dental floss on the bathroom floor.

“well located and comfortable”

This hotel is well located in the center of Hamburg between Binnenalster and the Harbour Area. From here most places can be reached within short distances (either by walking or public transportation). The room was very big (by European standards), comfortable, and well maintained. Service was very friendly and helpful. The hotel bar is pleasant and has live piano music at nighttime. All in all we were very satisfied and will consider this hotel again when we come back to Hamburg. Our only concern is about the breakfast where you only have the choice between a high priced full breakfast and an medium priced continental one. Unfortunately, picking some cereals and fruits was not considered part of the continental breakfast and thus would have been over priced. Therefore, we decided to have breakfast at another place nearby (Cafe Erste Liebe (First Love) which was very nice -- wonderful Espresso!).

Harbour Area & St Pauli (restaurants and night life), area around Hamburg Main Station (restaurants & theatre), area around the hotel is good for shopping and some museums are nearby.

“loved Hamburgh!”

hadn't even dreamed to love Hamburgh so much, but our experience was wonderful. Hotel was very comfy and convenient, the city is impressive. The New Conard restaurant is a real revelation. Will certainly go back there.

“Great hotel”

This is a good 5 star hotel. Everything was nicely done and the staff was very nice. The information counter is as good as any tourist information. Breakfast was great in quality and service. The only downside is the price.

“Memories of hard single beds”

We booked this hotel for a break over Christmas, arriving Christmas Eve. The hotel is large,modern and a little impersonal, to be expected in central Hamburg I guess. We fully expected the area to be quiet on what is a major holiday. Though we were a little surprised on arrival to find a large 4* establishment such as this operating on just a single receptionist, with no bar or food provision for that evening. We were tired and my partner was unwell, but we couldn't persuade the underemployed staff member to find even a sandwich, we were sent on a treck accross Hamburg at 9pm instead. Not a great start. The room was large and offered everything one would expect, no complaints on the space. The next problem came when we wanted to sleep - the so called kingsize double was actually two singles ... on wheels and subject to aparently random drift around the room. They were absolutely rock hard, harder than anything any much cheaper budget hotel has ever provided. Maybe this is common in Germany. Living in the room for five nights caused some sleep deprivation. A minor irritation was the evening maid service, guess you either love this or hate it, we felt like there was permanently someone trying to get in the room when it was occupied, hard to see the point of the service. We ended up feeling that this hotel would suit the overnight business traveller out working for 12 hour days better than us. It did have a very nice desk, should you bring your laptop.

“Would return”

The Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was really well positioned - quiet and overlooking the Christmas Market. Restarurant food was excellent. Plenty of choice for breakfast although a little pricy. Hotel drinks were rather expensive. Would return without question.

“Best hotel experience”

Absolutely fantastic. The staff are very courteous and friendly. Very close to train station which was useful in getting around the city. Hotel views are spectacular. Definetely 5 star class and highly recommended
