Pleasant stay near the Television Tower and park

Posted 18-May-2014
Location: Omas Apotheke located at Schanzenstraße 87 is about a 12 minute walk from the hotel and is an excellent choice for breakfast and lunch.
We stayed here since it was close to the Television Tower, which was the location of the finish line for the Hamburg Marathon. We were supposed to meet a friend there after he ran the marathon. This hotel was fairly close to the Schlump station. Our room was very clean, yet somewhat compact. We had requested a double bed and received two twin beds that were pushed close together. This seemed to be the norm for double beds on our trip and was fine for our short stay. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, since we found other inexpensive options nearby.

Modern hotel, short tube ride from city centre

Posted 13-Feb-2014
Pros: Cleanliness, helpful staff, comfortable bed, free wifi.
Cons: 20 euros per person for breakfast is a bit hefty. Not everyone wants a huge buffet breakfast. Perhaps a lighter option for half the price?
Location: Not as close to the city centre as we thought but there is a tube station nearby. Good choice of restaurants and cafés close by, and supermarkets.
We stayed for 2 nights as part of a mini break to Hamburg. The hotel was a little further outside the city centre than we would have liked. The nearest tube Schlump is 5 mins walk away and is 4 stops to city centre - we chose to walk which took about 30 minutes. The hotel is modern and clean and is more suited to business travellers. Breakfast was not included in our room rate and is a hefty 20 euros per person although we understand it is a generous buffet. We chose to eat breakfast at a very nice german cafe just around the corner that offered a good choice for a lot less euros!

Pros: Impeccably clean, large room. Helpful staff.
Cons: I know you are keen on energy saving but if you are going to have grey walls you need more than a couple of weedy bulbs to penetrate the gloom.
Location: Good restaurants nearby.

Good hotel, decent price, great location

Posted 07-Jan-2014
Pros: The location of this hotel is great, very close to pretty much everything and pretty cheap as well
Cons: No mini-bar, no vending machine, if you don't have any food available in the middle of the night, you won't have anything to eat. and there's no bath
Location: Aprox 5 minutes walk in each direction leads to multiple shops and restaurants.

Comfortable hotel in convenient location.

Posted 02-Sep-2013
Pros: Good value, comfortable room and not far from metro.
Cons: Restaurant did not seem to function much other than breakfast. here was no menu posted anywhere.
Location: Good location very close to botanic gardens. We loved the fountains display at 10pm.
We had an enjoyable stay here. Was easy to get to wherever we wanted to go in our exploration of Hamburg. Would stay there again.

Much to recommend it!

This hotel was very comfortable and had a relaxed atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful. However, the services in the hotel were expensive. Breakfast at 20 Euros per person, we thought was exorbitant. Found an excellent cafe nearby, Cafe Backwahn, which offered a superb breakfast menu at a third of that price. For an evening meal I would recommend the nearby italian restaurant Trattoria Cento Lire. The location of the hotel was excellent, being close to the Schlump U-bahn station and directly opposite the magnificent park Planten un Blomen.
