“very pleasant stay”

The hotel is nothing fancy, but it's perfect if you need a place near the Hamburg airport. They offer a free shuttle to the airport every 15 minutes. I recommend skipping the hotel's pricey breakfast and grabbing some food at one of the grocery stores around the corner.

“Great stay near airport”

This is a great hotel for a good price. We used the free hotel shuttle to the airport- 3 minutes! The hotel is nested in a residential neihgborhood. In walking distance you can find some nice small restaurants. We would stay their again for a night before flying out from HH airport.

“Not 4 Stars”

At one time this was a nice Hotel. It needs some investment to bring it back to 4 stars and some training of the staff in manners would help. I travel a lot for business. Mercure chain is not bad, bu this location is a weak link. Some things are almost funny...like the small grey/silver tube tv's. It is relatively clean and close to the airport.

“Great base for exploring Hamburg”

This hotel is outside the city but the metro line is only a 10 minutes walk. What made the difference to this hotel was the staff, they are withour doubt some of the best I have experienced. they were very friendly and extremely helpful. Don't park on site at €13 per day as close free parking on a side road is available - again suggested by the staff when we baulked at the fee! The only downside was some other noisy guests on our last night - hardly the hotel's fault, but annoying at the time!

Area recommendations

Hamburg is a great city but not a patch on Berlin for example. At best it's a weekend visit and no more. It does not take long to see the sites (as they are). be careful with the bus tours there are two the red and yellow bus (can't remember the name). Opt for the yellow one as the tour can be in English... we didn't....

Nightlife

Must see is the 20 up bar at the Empire Riverside Hotel, views over Hamburg are amazing at night. Be warned it opens at 6pm and there is already a huge que!!!

“great price and value for Hamburg weekend”

this is a great value hotel especially for weekend visits to Hamburg.

Area recommendations

close to the airport neighborhood, 20-minutes t the city center on the U1 train. Supermarket 200 meters away, parking on the street or at the hotel garage for a daily fee.

“OK but not 4 star”

Convenient to the airport. Breakfast buffet very nice, restaurant very expensive and this is compared to other nice restaurants we tried in Germany.

“Convenient for airport stopover”

Great night and made to feel very welcome once we eventually found the place to wait for the hotel shuttle bus from the airport. (It's on the arrivals level between the two terminals)
