It was expensive for the size of room and the facilities. For example it was rated at 4.5 stars but there was no bar. I believe it was resting on the laurels of being the hotel next to the zoo. The staff were pleasant although Covid rules were a bit over the top (perhaps their hands tied) for example everyone zealously wearing masks in public places but no hand sanitizers at each of the buffet stations. Hands are more important than masks

Business Trip one night stay.
The aircon did not functional properly in the romm so the reception upgraded me to a room close by, very quick and good service. Parking was secure and nearby at 6.5 euro, very reasonable. I have stayed here before and will definately come again. Nice friendly staff and quick check out plus very comfortable rooms.

Comfortable, clean, convenient themed hotel
Africa/jungle Themed hotel with interesting fittings (elephant coat hooks etc.) Enjoyed the location (near U-bahn), cycle rental and also the sauna. Would have liked coffee in the room but it was available in the lobby. Comfortable quiet stay.

quite disappointing stay: - large and noisy construction across the street. i was offered a better room, for an extra charge, of course - i got locked out of the room. it took me 3 trips to the reception desk and the entire lock had to be taken down. why use fancy door locking devices if they don't work? - toilet broken - the cleaning person knocks at the door in the morning, but does not wait for an answer. if you are not fast enough, you end up with a strange person in the middle of your room. quite funny, if you have your clothes on. - self parking is an extra 20EUR! not happy overall

We offer different room types, and this is why the prices for the business class rooms, which are facing away from the main street are higher than the economy class rooms. We are sorry that your door lock has not been used repeatedly. Our maintenance team had already fixed it. Lovely modern hotel in a nice location right next to the Tierpark. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and were pleased with both. The A/C was especially appreciated since we had been traveling a month in Denmark without any, during a heat wave. Some people might think the hotel décor is a bit kitschy, but after a month of Danish modern it was a nice change.

Dryer than the African dessert!
I liked the african themed hotel, it was quirky. The hotel was spotlessly clean. There isn't an awful lot around you, you needed to take the metro to venture out. The bar service was a joke, it could easily take you 20 minutes to get a drink as they didn't have a full time member staff working on the bar even though the hotel was full. Occasionally members of staff would come to the bar where people were waiting only to ignore them as they were getting drinks for the restaurant. They would say someone was coming and 5 to 10 minutes later they would but then as soon as they served a couple of people they cleared off again, even if you were still waiting. What a joke!

Zoo-themed hotel
The hotel is close to the Hagenbeck zoo and the interior decor and motifs are of the animals, safari and tribal artifacts in Africa. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-appointed and wifi is free (faster connection available for a fee). Only spent a night and arrived late (11 pm) because of terrible traffic due to construction along the A7 highway at the time. Pleasantly surprised at the extensive breakfast buffet spread and quality - a definite plus. Parking is available for an extra charge. In-room refrigerator is stocked with a few beverages and snacks for an extra charge. Hotel is close to Hamburg's main airport so convenient for fliers to and from Hamburg.

A Great Place to stay in Hamburg
I have stayed at the Lindner several times and is my favourite hotel in Hamburg. It is clean, the rooms are tastefully decorated with all facilities and the service from the staff is excellent.
