“Very smart hotel”
Excellent hotel overlooking Lake Alster. Very good service and pleasant staff. Highlight is the spa area with lovely pool along with a sauna, steam room and loungers. About 10 mins walk to Central Station and all the transport connections you need for Hamburg. Only issue during our stay was a failed minibar whch was quickly resolved.
“Lovely hotel”
Very helpfull and polite staff. I can't fault this hotel and everthing about it. Very large rooms indeed.
“just fine., not fantastic.”
linen was not soft, kinda rough. design of room was silly, although beautiful. hairdryer could be removed and moved to a more convenient location. bathroom ammenities were simple, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. One soap, that i moved from the sink to the shower. towel warmer, (a nice touch) TV had only 3 English business channels. No English movies available without a $20 purchase. Auto charge of 1Euro for Unicef, which i was told was going to Hiv/Aides relief. Does Unicef really do Aids/hiv? Upon checkout, the desk agent said, "you are already paid through Expedia,", not "how was your stay?" (I was there for 5 nights) overall, it was a great location, nice hotel, but not as wonderful as an American 5 star hotel. Didn't know that there was coffee in the lobby, which is off to the side of the entrance door until I checked out on the last morning. Nothing was said to me about it. I would have liked to know, because the coffee maker in the room is French Press. After the first use, you need to clean out the press and boil water again to make a second batch. Just plain stupid.
“Overall, very good.”
We really enjoyed our stay; the rooms were clean and comfortable; loved having bathrobes and slippers for us to use. We were able to check in 1.5 hours before the website said we could. I would say almost everything was perfect, expect for the concierge service. The restaurants that they recommended were not so good. I feel like they were just familiar with a few places that are close and that they didn't know much about the best restaurants in Hamburg. They were very friendly people, but I just don't feel like their recommendations were the greatest. However, after doing a little research on our own, we found a really nice greek restaurant just a few blocks from the hotel named "Kouros" and I had one of the most delicious meals I have had since coming to Germany. My advice would be to find out what restaurants you want to go to on your own. Besides that, we really, really had a great stay. It is a wonderful hotel.
“Can't wait to go back”
The hotel was very good, I had a nice time there. I was impressed by the decor and furnishing. It was nicely decorated and comfortable.
“Ticked all the boxes for quality, leisure and comfort.”
The Hotel and Hamburg met all our expectations. There is much to do and see in Hamburg, our principle reason for going, but we did spend good deal of our 2 night, 3 day visit in the hotel enjoying its amenities and relaxing.
“Chic hotel in great location”
Walking distance to restaurants, park, and lake. Super cool rooms and comfy beds.
“Luxury Hamburg”
By far the best hotel Hamburg has to offer. Located directly on the Alster, only minnutes away from the main station, and central shopping. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Abit on the pricey side, but worth every penny.
“great views from the bar”
wonderful and very comfortable. If u want luxury you have found it. If you cant afford to stay the night pop up to the 9th floor and enjoy the views with a drink at the bar. Rooms are comfortable with a choose of drinks in the room. Breakfast was fantastic. All you can eat to set u up for your day.
“WONDERFUL hotel”
The front desk and concierge were extremely helpful and very service-oriented. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Room service, with an emphasis on service, was above and beyond our expectations. The buffet breakfast was delicious and roof top bar was exquisite. The shower, with three showerheads, was marvelous. Pay a bit extra for a lakeview; well worth the money. We cannot wait to go back and will never stay anywhere else in Hamburg!
