“Good standard Hotel with Breakfast”

Typical city hotel - Nice clean room, good shower with double basin - good quality bed - nice and warm - everything worked well, no BBC World on the telly but usual range of German channels. Breakfast was the usual, cereals, fruit, sliced meats/cheese and hot was scrambled egg of which there was plenty. Nice Breakfast room, Apparently opens as a bar on Friday and Saturday, for which the quality looks good - inviting. City location opposite the museum, near to St Pauli U underground station. 15/20 minutes walk to the Rathaus. Some noise from other guests leaving in the morning. We were at the rear of the hotel - no external noise but no nice view either. Pleasant reception and room staff - polite. Small reception area - a bit cold in the winter. Would definitly stay again based ion this stay.

Rathaus square - Monckstrasse for shopping - Blankenese for a visit

Cash Machines. The Banks (Looks like pretty much all of them in HAMBURG) charge about 5 Euros per transaction plus whatever your bank does at home so we got charged £10 for a standard cash withdrawal. DONT feed the bank - take euros out before you go!!!

“Very satisfied”

Very clean and conveniently located. Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was clean, but the bed a little uncomfortable. Unfortunately my room was on the second floor just above the courtyard outside the kitchen. So the kitchen noise woke me at 6AM as breakfast was being prepared and people also hung out in the courtyard after midnight, so it was a little hard to sleep. I'm sure a room on a higher floor away from the courtyard would have made my stay perfect.

It is well appointed and clean. Staff is nice and professional. Breakfast is plentifull.

I would recommend to visit downtown. A trip around the Elba River. All these is very picturesque and full of History.

“Near Exhibition Centre”

This hotel was very convenient to the Exhibition centre being approx 20 min walk. On a fairly busy road, so I would ask for a room at the back of the hotel. Hotel could benefit from thicker walls and a restaurant. Hotel staff friendly and rooms very clean. I would reccommend this hotel and definitely stay here again.

“Convenient Location near interesting sights”

My room was basic, very clean and quiet, with a nice view of the Planten und Blomen park and Hamburg Museum. Internet access was included with my room, but it was a little troublesome to access as the instruction sheet procedure was inaccurate. The room included a safe, but it was not big enough to accommodate a laptop PC. The staff was pleasant and helpful when asked. The breakfast buffet was typical, but very fresh. The location was convenient.

Area recommendations

The Hamburg Museum was across the street from the hotel next to the Planten und Blomen park, and a WWII flak tower is not far from the park. The bus stop in front of the hotel is a direct line to the Sunday Fish Market (well worth the visit) and waterfront where the U-434 Russian submarine is available for tours or to the train station. A short walk will get you to the St. Pauli U-Bahn station. The St. Pauli U-Bahn station is at one end of the Reeperbahn, the main drag through St. Pauli. The area near the Rathaus is worth walking and has some beautiful old buildings, as is the area near the Speicherstadt along the canals.

“NO PARKING”

We had to park our car in a public parking area on the other side of the park. It was about at 4 block walk. Not a huge problem unless it rains, which it does a lot in Germany. The hotel was very close to the U-bahn stop and attractions. I just worried about the safety of our car, but we had no problems with that at all, I worried for nothing. The price for two days of parking was very reasonable.

“Great Location”

Excellent location for getting around the city, we walked every where as you then get a great feeling of a place. The staff were very friendly and we thought the breakfast was great.
