“Good Hotel for Price”

Positives: + The room was spacious + Room was cleaned daily, and soaps, towels etc replenished + Lockable Cupboard & Safe + Staff were courteous, hepful and friendly + 5-10min walk to Town Hall & nearby amenities, especially good for Christmas markets + In reasonable location for other attractions if you don't mind a longer walk - we found it easy to walk to the Miniature Wunderland and Fairground Neutral points: * On suite might be considered small by some, I'm a small person so not an issue for me * Level of service at Breakfast buffet varied but was generally good * Was with a friend but the rooms allocated were on different floors Minor issues some might find annoying: - Pillow was not comfortable, large but thin, difficult to fold to compensate - Window did not quite block out traffic/train noise despite appearing double glazed - Curtains did not completely to block out street lighting etc

“Everything we wanted !”

The hotel was everything we needed for a comfortable visit to Hamburg . Apart from the fact that the hotel itself was very satisfactory ; pleasant staff , excellent breakfast ; quiet room , it couldn't have been better located : near to Underground .the Opera House , the shopping area ; the Alster ; and plenty of good restaurants . Would definitely go there again !

“A Nice Hotel in a Good Location”

The hotel is easily reached from the airport by S-Bahn and then U-Bahn. You have to change, but it's very simple. When you reach Stephanplatz go to the front of the platform and you'll be 1 block from the hotel. The location is convenient for both bus and boat tours. There are many bars and restaurants in the area. The staff is very helpful.

“A reall good hotel”

The tAlster Hof VCH is a really nice hotel. Breakfast help yourself to as much as you want. Inculded in the price of the room. 5-10 mins walk from the Rathous in Hamburg. I would recomond this hotel to family and friends 10 out of 10

“Great location and features”

Was very easy to get from the airport to the hotel via the train system, about 1/2 hr total. The hotel was 50 yards from the subway exit which made using the subway system very easy. Was a short walk to the center of the city and plenty of restaurants and shops right around the corner on the Collanaden. The room itself was small (typical of the hotels I have stayed in Europe) but comfortable and plenty of room for a single traveler. The breakfast was very nice with a fairly large selection of foods. Internet was via T Mobile and either an hourly rate or a monthly pass ( was $35). Only wish they had a 7 day. Overall I would highly recommend the Alster Hof VCH for its convenient location and comfortable rooms and amenities.

Having picked the hotel from the large number availble on Expedia, I was very pleased with this choice. Hotel was centrally located with a small but well appointed room. Breakfast buffet was inmpressive with an excellent choice and very helpful staff.

“perfect position”

two mins from the binnenalster and two mins from stephansplatz u-bahn station - can't get much better located than that. Decor a little dated, but nothing wrong with the room (tho' could have done with a shaver socket and a hairdryer). Good breakfast too, and helpful, genial staff...definitely recommended.
