“Highlight of our trip”
We returned to this hotel for our last 2 nights of our trip to pamper ourselves and it was a great experience. We have stayed here before and loved it - it has stood the test of time. Water front view is worth the expense. Fantastic location for visiting downtown Halifax.
“Great location”
This hotel is where you would want to be in Halifax. It is near the wharf, lots of restaurants, and shopping.
“Good Place to Stay”
This hotel is ideal for the its location by the boardwalk. I have stayed here before and would go back. My two critisisms of this trip are that my room did not become available until 4.30pm. The breakfast we ordered on the second day had to be sent back even though we had waited a considerable time for it to appear. Any chef worth their salt would not have sent out breakfasts in the state they were in. No apology was given.
“Excellent choice in an excellent location in a great city!”
Very friendly and attentive staff. Very well kept, modern hotel in beautiful downtown Halifax. Very reasonable price. You cannot go wrong here, folks!
“great for business, not families”
the property was beautiful and very clean and a few blocks' walk to everything on our sight-seeing list. My disappointment was in the lack of information provided by the staff at checkin. They never told me anything about the property or its amenities, like when breakfast was being served or the hours of the pool. Things I had to ask about myself. Also as it was a holiday(Good Friday) when my family stayed, I was unimpressed by the staff'slack of knowledge of surrounding food areas including the Brewery Market attached as to what was open or closed. Having worked behind a front desk in hotels for 14plus years I ALWAYS made my guests aware of these things as something as simple as where to grab a quick family bite can mean the difference between a good evening and a poor/frustrating one. My only other comment is in regards to the children's breakfast menu "a la carte"...my daughters ordered pancakes...their dinner size plates were pratically overflowing with 2 very large pancakes. I would suggest making medallion sized pancakes ( about 5 per plate) for kids with syrup in a dipping bowl. It will cut the waste down and make it more fun for your youngest guests perhaps offer a side of banana or berries to complete the plate. Had I known or been informed of the size of these plates I would have asked for one order split between my 2 children (age 4 & 7). Thank you for allowing me to share.
“Favorite hotel in Halifax”
An excellent place to stay.
“Recommended!!!!!!!!!”
Godd value.
“exceeded expectations”
The staff, the cleanliness, the comfort were all above my expectations. Would certainly return to this hotel
“Very Enjoyable Stay”
This hotel is walking distance to everything downtown - the Alexander Keiths brewery is right next door. Got a great price on Expedia. Nice views of the water from rooms at the front of the hotel, and a nice terrace to sit and relax on. (Which also has a harbor view) The room was very comfortable, and not too small. Very nice staff, and a convenient bar in the lobby. I read a review saying it was hard to find - but I didn't have any difficulty finding it.
“Service Was Dissapointing”
We arrive early and had two rooms booked. One person that had a room was my 76 year old mother-in law. we requested a little earlier check in than 3:00 and were denied. When I phoned back and asked if we could get my mother-in-law in a little earlier say 2:00 they would not assist. Will not stay there again. lack of empathy is a big issue in my book.
