“Not my first choice”
The service is great and the hotel is OK. This hotel was and would not be my first choice in selecting a hotel, but it is nice. The rooms are clean, but a little old.
“Pleasant Stay”
The staff were extremely hospitable - they deserve a 5 star. And its the center of the town, great local. Its an old hotel and they have done a good job with the upkeep. Unfortunately they don't have an open lounge in the lobby where you can sit down at any time and have a few drinks with friends. Overall a pleasant experience, I'll consider staying there on my next trip
“Amanda”
Surprised by the large hotel rooms. Nice pool area. Hotel location was great. Clean Rooms. AC unit was very old and the pillows we had were not good pillows. Paid parking came to $16.10. I would probably try to find somewhere that had free parking next time and because this lot cannot accommodate all guests and can fill up rather quickly. They allow anyone to park in this lot. Parking in the immediate area is hard to find (Metro Center is across the street) and we came very close to not having a parking spot at the hotel and we arrived before 4:30pm. Anyone who arrived after 4:30pm on this day (it was a metro center game day) would not have gotten a spot. I like this hotel however will probably not recommend it to friends because of the parking situation.
“Our Halifax Nest”
For anyone, nothing extravagant but nice and quiet. Service was excellent, they have a nice relaxing indoor pool with a fairly well equiped gym area for the more lively people. Great location, could walk to almost all attractions. It's close to the wharf and your choises of food of all kinds but the hotel does have a restaurant (we just didn't have a chance to try it ourselves, out all day).
“So-So”
Looks dumpy from the outside and rooms have outdated furnishings. Hotel staff a little incompetent (did not activate my keycards at check-in). However, the location is great and it's the cheapest downtown hotel. The lobby is nice. I attended a wedding in the hotel and the food and service was great.
“The Inn”
Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. After a long overnight flight desk clerk found a room we could check into sooner than normal (even called on my cell phone when room was ready). Everyone was very nice, right down to the parking attendant who gave us some great sight seeing advice.
“Good location”
This hotel was central to all the activities we participated in while in Halifax. We parked our car for the 2 days/nights we were there and walked everywhere. Lots of uphill streets in Halifax!! It was easy to get to the waterfront,Citadel etc. The lobby is not that impressive and seems a little worn but the rooms were clean and adequate with comfortable beds and windows that open to get a breeze as well as air conditioning which we did not need while there. We did not eat there so cannot comment on food.In the lobby there could have been more maps/info on activities and events for Halifax. Pleasant surprise when we left....sign said parking was $14/night but was only charged $5/night plus taxes.
“Great value”
This is a great little hotel just a few blocks from the waterfront. Great value for the money versus their peers.
“Nice, quiet and great location.”
Hotel is nice, good service, clean room, great location; near bars, restaurant, casino, harbour, good size indoor pool and other more.
“Great Location”
The hotel is very centrally located in the city of Halifax. We didn't require a rental car as everything was walking distance. Plus, the walking allowed us to burn off those extra vacation calories.
