“Beautiful location and relaxing onsen”
The hotel is in a beautiful location and we took advantage of the Hakone ropeway and Kamagotake Cable car (the base of this cable car is behind the hotel) to hike along the mountain paths at the top. The onsen had indoor and outdoor pools for each gender and were wonderfully relaxing (there are instructions available about the proper etiquette for using onsens if you've never been to one before). The restaurants in the hotel are pricey at the present exchange rate, and the quality of the food was good. We took a taxi to Moto Hakone, the nearest village to the hotel, for a pizza dinner one night - the taxi cost 1200 yen (one way) and dinner (2 pizzas, 1 bottle of wine) cost 7000 yen, so even eating in restaurant outside of the restaurant complex is expensive. On a clear day the views of Mount Fuji from the hotel are breathtaking.
“Ignorant attitude”
This hotel is in remote location and we choose to stay there understanding that hotels will provide shuttle bus if booked ahead of time. That was not a case. I had send several e-mails 5-4 days prior to our arrival. None of them were answered and shuttle was not provided. When kind attendant from Odawara station call the hotel on our behalf we've been told to use public bus (2,5 hours in heavy traffic) No wi fi or even paid internet station in this hotel. Overpriced restaurants at the hotel and no other options to eat around.
“Great hotel”
Great hotel and very comfortable rooms. It's a little out of the way and public buses run rarely and at inconvenient times, so you need to rely on private car or taxi. The staff are extremely helpful and the restaurant is excellent.
“Good View FUJI MT and Hakone Best Hotel”
The air bath is very clean and People are all very friendly
“great hotel but far”
This is a great hotel with excellent service. However it is really far from Odawara station (the bus ride takes 1 hr 20 mins and costs 1700 yen each way). The distance from Odawara station makes it an inconvenient location to ride the cable car, ropeway and sight seeing cruise.
“Can't wait to go back”
I loved the area, the hotel is beautifully maintained and the standard of our room very high. The views over the lake of the mountains were stunning in all weather and we even saw Fuji when it came out from behind the clouds on our second day. There is a boat that takes you on a tour of the lake or can be used to get to and from the two nearby towns (we did walk one day, which took approx an hour and had some great photo ops), a bus and you can hire scooters. The only downfall was that everything closed at 8pm, there were 3 very highly priced restaurants on the complex, which, although the food was delicious, we could not afford to eat in every night. The last bus returned from nearby towns at 5 and the roads are too dark to go out at night by foot. After eating there was little to do, this hotel could really benefit from a bar (that was open later) or some kind of evening entertainment. We did have room service one night, which was cheaper than the onsite restaurants and really tasty. The residents of the hotel were mainly Japanese families, this hotel caters very well to families, with plenty of entertainment (such as an aquarium and seal show) on site, this is likely to be the reason that it felt we were the only ones awake after 9pm! Tthere are plenty of beautiful walks and a cable car on the hotel grounds that takes you to the top of a nearby mountain. Hakone is perfect if you like walks through beautiful mountains & nice views, plus like to goto bed & rise early!
“Kind and attentive service”
The hotel staff was very kind to us. We were traveling with small children and they went above and beyond to make our stay as easy as possible. We enjoyed our trip very much!
“Good Hotel but the food is very expensive !”
Good Hotel but the food is very expensive !
“nice clean quiet environment with great hotel facility!”
everything is excellent for the price we paid the only downside is that the hotel is a bit far from Hakone machi, but good thing about it is it's very quiet....I especially enjoy a walk at dawn/dusk looking at the view of the lake, and Mt Fuji....excellent experience, no complaints
“Fantastic hotel for the price.”
Stayed 2 nights. Fantastic spot. Location is far from main town but is not a problem if you don't mind walking about 2 kms. Beautiful walk by the lake. Buy your food from the 7 eleven in hakonemachi and you are set. restaurants at Prince Hakone are pricey as one would expect from hotel restaurants. Some staff speak english be careful who you pass important instructions to. Make sure they speak fluent english or your instructions will be lost in translation.
