Fantastic Outlook

Posted 16-Jun-2014
Pros: The location and the view. Found the staff very nice and helpful.
Cons: I had poor Wi-Fi reception in our room. Worked fine in lobby. Would fix the lack of control regarding room temperature
Location: We utilised the local three day tourist pass. This worked great for us given the bus stop was at the front door.
We are a couple in our early sixties. Stayed here for two nights. Aim was to see Mt Fuji. Arrived around 1300 an hour earlier than check in time. Our room was ready so the staff allowed us to book in early. Within an hour of our arrival thick fog set in and you couldn't see twenty metres in front of you. The wind was blowing very hard and the conditions were very poor. The weather restricted us to the Hotel for the remainder of the day. We utilised the café etc of the Hotel which was nice. Given we had not seen Mt Fuji at this point we where wondering if we ever would. Our room was small as you come to expect in Japan, the bed was a double and up against the wall. It was hard which didn't allow us to have a comfortable sleep. However our biggest beef was the lack of control of our room temperature. Our room was a constant 27 C. Reception suggested we open the window to moderate the temperature. We did that which created another problem with insects. The Onsen was an interesting experience and very soothing. In the morning the weather had cleared and we were able to appreciate the glory of this Hotel. The location is second to none with regard Mt Fuji and the tourist activities of the area. Walking straight out the front door on a clear day and looking to your right is Mt Fuji. Fantastic. Despite our hassles it is hard to beat the location of this Hotel. The bus stop right at the front door and the amazing view of the surrounding valley

Great hotel only a few minutes to the lake!

From the moment we walkee in Hakone Palace Hotel we were thrilled with the hotek facilities and welcome by a fantastic front desk staff! Contrary to other reviews, we had great wireless in the room, enjoyed a fantastic onsen experience. The hotel is also only a 5 minutes bus ride from Togendai station, one bus every 15 minutes. All included in the price. The only regret we had was that we only had one nighy in hakone. We will definetely go back to Hakone Palace Hotel. And strongly recommended it!

Nice view of Mount Fuji

Posted 14-Apr-2014
Pros: Peaceful location, view of Mount Fuji, confortable
Cons: Could use some renovation
Location: Hotel is far from everything, you will need the bus to get around.
Hotel is a bit old and a bit far from the city, but has same great views of Mount Fuji on a clear day and is confortable.

Secluded Location

Very bad weather when we were there, so that has coloured our opinions. However, staff not as helpful or friendly as in other places. Too far from station, and due to bad weather, did not get any good views or sightseeing done. Buses and taxis to get here are relatively expensive.

Nice and well equipped hotel close attractions.

Posted 04-Jan-2014
It is a nice hotel close to the attractions in togendai and has nice views. However, it is quite inaccessible as only 1 bus goes to this area from the more popular spots. No food areas nearby but only a few lawson stores which require bus rides. If u are planning to stay here for holiday, please purchase the hakone free pass as it will definitely be worth it.
