“Too bad too old, needs renovation”

this hotel is way past it's prime - all is old and falling apart. the restaurant is very expensive for what it is. nthe only saving grace is the view. It was our last hotel stay after being in Japan for 3 weeks. WE stayed here for a week, and it was our worst hotel and our most expensive. Will not return here till it is upgraded - It must have been beautiful in its prime.

“nicely located with need-to-improve-people-skill employees”

great location and great view (really by the lake and when the weather allows, you can see the Mt Fuji, really near to the pirate ship dock, near to many great places in Hakone and there's a bus stop right outside the hotel), but some of the workers seemed unprofessional.. if you love birds, you will love this place, it has bird nests right under the roof... too bad this place doesn't serve much of Japanese food.

Area recommendations
Hakone Checkview Point, next to the hotel, for the original old Japanese ambience and the great view it can offer when the weather allows from the top of that place. Hakone Sightseeing Pirateship Cruise, the dock is right next to the hotel, a fun ride to enjoy Hakone Lake, and you can visit Hakone Shrine from another docking point.
Getting around
the hotel is really far from the train stations, so it's better to get a Hakone Pass which allows you unlimited rides on buses and trains and ships participating in it.

“Das Hotel liegt unmittelbar am See mit einem fantastischen Blick über den See auf den Fuji”

Hervorragende ruhige Lage, grosszügige sehr gut ausgestattete Zimmer, in direkter Umgebung zu Bootsanleger,Lokale und Souvenirshops. Hoher Wohlfühlwert. Busanbindung direkt am Hotel.
