Clean + cheap = great!
Lots of hotels in the area, so I'm guessing this hotel is trying its best to remain competitive. The overall stay was great for its price. Lots of amenities available upon request, and the rooms are impeccably clean. Welcome drinks available for you to self-serve, and the breakfast seemed decent although I did not have them. The hotel seems to be a great choice as long as the price remains favourable compared to others closeby.

Liked location and the buffet breakfast. Hotel was good value. Room was compact but functional. Room was hot despite air con down to 16c. Could not open window.

The lady at front was not perfectly kind but the man at breakfast buffet was very efficient, and good quality for the price. Worth the $$$ for sure!

Comfort Hotel Hakodate is a great little hotel very close to the station. Room was clean, bed comfortable, breakfast was good. Only down side is there is only one elevator but wait was never too long.

Great location and affordable
Great location. You can see Hakodate JR station as well as Morning market. Not even a minute walk. Check in took less than three minutes and clerk was efficient and got job done professionally. You may pick up night gown, razor, bathroom amenities if you need to. I had free breakfast every day. I read some complaints about it. Look, this is ' bijiho ', that's what Japanese called. Business hotel not Westin or Mandarin oriental. I ate little bit different every morning for 4 days. I enjoyed their breakfast. If you like Japanese type breakfast, please look somewhere else. Room was bit small but then again this is ' bijiho '. They got everything I need during my stay. Everything was clean and laundered. I didn't smell any bleach. You know you get overwhelmed by that smell at some hotel, motel. I didn't turn on TV so I can't comment on that. Air purifier is a nice touch. There is smoking room inside building? I saw the sign. I can't believe this is allowed. Overall my sray was great, I will sray again.

The heater was not warm enough, I asked for changing room, but they only offer me an additional blanket, that night was the coldest night in Japan and I had to wear jacket when sleeping

Snowy stopover
Comfort Hotel, Hakodate Easy checkin ( after 3 of course). Very small room but has everything we need for a one night stopover. Staff all friendly and helpful. Snow in the streets made the short walk from the station interesting! The complimentary breakfast was surprisingly varied with both Japanese and western options.

Great choice near Hakodate Station, right in front of the city tram. Room is not big but, as any Japanese hotel room, has everything you might need.

Space abit constraint. Have some difficulty opening up two luggage in the room. Other than this, everything is fine. They are having renovation in the kitchen, so bento set arrangement is made for affected guests. Very considerate of them.

A good hotel near Hakodate train station.
1. No doubt the hotel is in a great location, near JR train station, bus station and tram stop. 2. Plenty of eateries near hotel. 3. Convenient store nearby. 4. Average breakfast. 5. The smallest room we had experienced in Japan. 6. Yukata (bath robe) not pretty at all. 7. Staff friendly, courteous and not much smiling. 8. Room rate is expensive in comparison with other Japanese city. 9. It is indeed an American Comfort Inn chain hotel, 10. Two to three blocks from the hotel is the famous Morning Market, an amazing place for seafood, sushi and sashimi lovers. It opens at 5 am. Price is reasonable. This place is a must if you visit Hakodate. 11. Tram is an essential mode of transportation for sightseeing if you are in Hakodate. The Tram stop is 10 meter in front of the hotel. It only costs Y600 Japanese yen for one day pass. 12. Overall I love this hotel, and will stay again for next trip if I am in Hakodate. I will also recommend to prospect visitors to Hakodate.

Close to station-very small room.
Convenient for station and tram which stops outside.First class breakfast! Room very small-double bed against wall and partially blocked at foot by short wall,so person next to wall has to climb over first person. Don't have room 1001! Otherwise v nice hotel and staff.

Comfort to stay.
Location wise near train station. Come with free breakfast and free coffee. This is the only hotel lift with very strong coffee aroma. In front of the hotel is the street car station. Is a prime location. Coin operate Washing machine and dryer is the cheaper among other hotel, and is function well. Worth recommended

Very close to rail station.
Very close to rail station and tram stop. Staff at check in desk is efficient. Room is clean and functional. Only stay for one night, although breakfast included, not gone for it, as we went to have breakfast at the morning fish market (main tourist site for Hakodate) which is just 3 minutes walk from the hotel.

Budget but best location ever.
I realize after I booked this hotel (1 month before), the rooms filled up quickly during December. That explains, since the location is top notch. It's 5 minute walk from Hakodate JR station, and the tram stop is right in front of the hotel (you can basically count your steps). Eateries are plenty around. Room quality is good with adjustable heater buttons, and typical Budget hotel size room in Japan. Breakfast was simple but enough; scrambled eggs, sausages, breads, miso soup, yoghurt, blueberries, etc. Nothing to complain about. Just make sure to book it early.

Heart Location of Hakodate!
The hotel located very near JR Hakodate station. Closely to Hakodate's morning market, just a few minutes walk. There is a tram station in front of the hotel, nice location! Room is clean, perfect!

The hotel is very near the tram station and JR station. There is also a convenient store across the road. The semi double is quite small but we didn't have much luggage so it's still alright. Good for a night or 2 stay. free breakfast served is very basic. booked it as it was the cheapest in that area.

Right across the street from the JR train station....rooms are very small, but everything works well....good price, walking distance from many tourists sites. Free Buffet breakfast was more than adequate.Tram right outside the door. I was very satisfied. Not recommended if your over 6 ft tall.

Fantastic experience at this Comfort chain hotel !
I book this hotel by chance when another hotel was fully booked ! It was a blessing in disguise. It is really value for money as it also provide complimentary breakfast. As usual in Japan room is small but was very well equip. FOC coffee from 3pm !

Excellent location. Stroll across to the station. Step outside to catch the tram. Walk round the corner to the early morning fish market. Close by to loads of local restaurants. It was what it is ... clean, simple, no frills, good priced hotel that included - Free coffee. Laundry room. Free ice. Free internet. Free toiletries. Good breakfast. Kettle in room.No English TV channels. Book a twin room to get the extra room space
